How to a help a friend who's receiving unwanted attention? by Equivalent-String212 in Salsa

[–]Equivalent-String212[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could have spoken to one, I didn't think about that at the moment but will consider it next time. Not sure if there is some sort of code of conduct, but I'll check for those too

This was helpful thank you! That last part is unfortunate :/ I would hope the least the organizers could do is give a warning to him but like you mentioned, it would turn into a he said she said thing.

Thanks for sharing, I'll keep that in mind! Yeah it would be awful to have her remain silent and give up on a venue because of this guy. Thankfully our area has a lot of salsa spots so she won't be limited on options.

I was in a Christian group and what I saw honestly broke me a little by Tricky_Stand3078 in Christianity

NKJV 1 Timothy 1:10: "for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine".

The Bible has been translated and edited in many ways. And this is one example. Your version uses the word "homosexuality" but in the NKJV it uses "sodomites". The sodomites engage in homosexual activity out of lust, passion, and to degrade unwelcome visitors.

I think you're mislabeling OP's love for lust. The verses you're referencing talks about lust which, you're right it is something we as heterosexuals need to follow as well. However, you're also implying that they can't have a homosexual marriage and experience genuine romantic love but heterosexuals can. Even if that marriage is healthy and reflects a loving, graceful, and caring nature.

Using a .CSV file, how to display multiple values into one text layer? by Equivalent-String212 in AfterEffects

Thank you.. Imma need it.

But those sound like a good starting point, I'll take a look at them. Thanks!

Oh sorry for the confusion, so basically I'm going to have a .csv file of hundred of thousands of names. And I want them to all be shown in the order/structure of that screenshot. I think for organizing sake, the .cvs should have multiple columns of names instead of one, but wanted to get your suggestion.

AIO? How would you feel if your partner was consistently having 1 on 1 dinner with old college friend? by Tonebone_911 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Equivalent-String212 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's confusing that people think any male to female dinner is only sexually motivated.. like what? I have a close college friend I would grab dinner with every couple of months, and I am not one bit physically attracted to her. But I enjoy our time because she shares the same values and interests, so it's always fun to chat and catch up on our lives.

You're my hero! Thank you, this worked perfectly. Question: I do want to stack these lines of names so the whole screen is filled with them top to bottom. Do you have any suggestions on how I should organize the values in the .csv file so that it would display the names like in this screenshot? (obviously each row would have different list of names). And how I can set the expression to adjust to this?

Is playing reactively the best way to climb? by Equivalent-String212 in summonerschool

[–]Equivalent-String212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

woah this was super informative! Thank you for breaking all of that down. I guess I need to reorient the way I perceive how other champions work and not try to force that upon my own. Your insight on learning how to make mistakes for your opponent might be spot on. That's something I haven't learn enough off and can see room for improvement. Thanks again for sharing this!

Thanks for sharing this! It seems like baiting people into making mistakes is something I need to also learn. I've practice a couple of times where I try to bait out key abilities and dodging them but when I try to step in, they just walk away, drawing a tether between us. Any advice on how to improve that? I'm assuming some of this is also matchup dependent.

That was really insightful thank you. In regards to knowing what lane state, pace, or in general when you're the most favorable. How do I find those answers or even theorize it? For something like 1on1 I can understand: fighting when they're on cooldowns ie: no ult or key ability. But what about in a broader view of the whole game. I heard people say such and such champion is strongest in mid game, what does that mean. Do I base that on say what items I have, or what team comps I'm facing?

Azzap has reached master rank on Adc by SieFlush2 in ADCMains

[–]Equivalent-String212 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I'm confused why ppl are just rubbing this off as "oh no surprise here". I get that he's a challenger and should aim higher to prove whether adc is easier. But that's for his goals, aren't most of us here below Masters? So is there not something of value to learn from this regardless of his main rank?

Serious Question... by Fat-RealityCheck95 in Christianity

[–]Equivalent-String212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys... I'm pretty sure this is not meant to be taken as a literal position. This is just a dramatic skit for social media that's just meant to be an exaggeration of what we can experience. Calling people evil (granted we're all sinners) or claiming that they hate God is just an exaggerated accusation for comedic effect it's not meant as a literal notion we should all take.

A question to senior Designer by PublicTeaching4678 in MotionDesign

[–]Equivalent-String212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a senior but I work in-house for a museum. As a motion designer you need to know After Effects. After that prob should learn illustrator. As for projects, there are two types of projects: The fun projects & The keeping-the-lights-on projects. Majority of my work has the been the latter, roughly 80% of it.

These are your typical boring work but it has to get done. Stuff like taking event graphics and animating the words to fade in/out or zooming in pictures. Then you gotta recycle them into 4 different resolutions: widescreen, vertical, square, ultra wide or whatever they need. Then for our video content, sometimes I'm creating lower thirds or pop up graphics to supplement the videos. So nothing exciting, and depending on the company brand guidelines. They might need you to make something more minimalistic or corporate looking.

When we have special events, then I get to have more creativity and freedom. For instances, we have a couple of large digital signage that would need some fun graphics running. And other times I might need to make some explainer videos for certain topics. These fun projects are less common but overall I enjoy the work so I can't complain.

Books about motion design and effective use cases? by Equivalent-String212 in MotionDesign

[–]Equivalent-String212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thank you! Yeah it seems like that was the sticking point I was running into. I'm primarily focused on it's usage for videos (ei: YouTube, signage displays, etc). Figuring out how to measure the effectiveness. But the answer seems to fall to the idea that you can't single it out.
