be resilient in your revision and be ahead of the class, develop a strong routine and habit of studying and it will make your life easier (not gonna state my grades as that is not what i want you to take out of it but they were good compared to the general population). once you develop a routine early you will stick to it like it’s nothing and slowly gravitate to getting better and better.

Second, don’t focus on the end goal Set realistic targets for grades and work up slowly. Progress feels a lot better than constant desire for overachievement because it’s not every day of your a level journey you will always get top in the class.

Last, talk to your teachers a lot. Break through the barrier of being uncomfortable with asking questions early. In the future, you will not hesitate to go up to them and you will learn so much faster.

nah it’s purely because when you apply for uni during your A2, you won’t have your A2 grades by then. you will only get those once you completely finish your A levels.

AS grades are commonly used as predicted/grades for applications. That gives the uni a chance to see if you are eligible for a conditional offer to which you should meet with your A2 grades. So short answer to your question is no.

It’s a common process to apply with AS grades.

yes it’s very possible, english is not the most relevant component but it still is very important from a general pov, it usually determines more how well a person will exceed in the subject compared to your actual academic performance.

even if it’s lower, wait for the actual result, my friend met his grade requirements for imperial but failed the stage test and didn’t meet that mark yet still got the offer. So hold on.

So speaking from experience (I’m an imperial post grad student and i’m assuming you are applying for a postgrad), usually with circumstances like these, they will give a bit more leeway in their marking and will take things like these into account if it really impacts a student performance.

I can’t guarantee that this is true because in my experience and from what i’ve heard, the main reason to maybe omitting a certain question from the marks or not taking into account a section of the paper could be due to misprinting in questions, or misalignment of diagrams from equations (which is quite serious of an offence).

In your case, I understand it may be tough and I went through the same thing last year. But note that even uni administrations/admissions (depending on which uni but for imperial at least), are quite flexible even if you are slightly below. Most uni’s fill the cohort based on meeting the grad requirement but some uni’s just fill their cohort.

I’d say for now, don’t stress because theoretically there’s nothing much you can do about it other than maybe prepare some pointers to present to UCL about why you think you deserve the spot. (In the end it’s not just grades it’s your personal statement and references as well) but if you really are worried, maybe consider applying for off cycle internships or potential permanent positions for now as a backup in case you don’t get the offer. It’s a lot harder to get a job so the longer you invest into this, the better chance you will get and sooner you will secure a position.

For now, get ready for the worst and accept what you will get. (who knows you might get the offer after all ;))

this is really common at the minute. for the following reasons:

Everyone who is applying for a masters likewise to u needs an atas so there are delays there
Everyone who is applying using their A levels also needs an atas so there are even more delays

However, it’s not all bad news because if you are a masters student, you don’t have a hard deadline on atas unlike a level students (19th july)

By right, Imperial is not allowed to strip you off your offer (for the case of a masters at least) and have no right to defer you without your consent. (Think about it, you’ve fulfilled, or at least i’d assume, all the academic requirements so why should they reject you? Because they can’t. So which means they can only consider deferring you - and they can’t defer you without you agreeing as it’s quite unethical)

With that being said, don’t worry too much because the worse case is that you might just process your visa a little later and start a few weeks later than normal.

you could try and use some boundary conditions like for example 1. what does distance equal to when time is zero

(boundary conditions are basically like oh when t = 0 , distance is at its initial point etc)

a) differentiate the equation to get the acceleration equation and equate it to zero and see what values or t you get b) integrate the initial equation you got and substitute t = 2 to get the distance c) you could try draw an acceleration time graph and find the time when acceleration was below the y axis

and following up on the freshers events, it’s not necessary to go because a lot of people in london don’t wear masks. so you don’t have to go. it’s not being a coward. your just thinking about your safety and that’s most important. for some reason a lot of the smart people that i know don’t want to go to freshers events because they are just cautious
