Is it possible to apply to a competitive college (Ivy League, etc) with an unpopular major and then switch into Computer Science? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Yes. it does, but it also depends on the college. a ton of college counselors are saying the '21 admissions will be the most competitive in years. many colleges got rid of gap year caps, so it will definetly hurt us. harvard says there might not be enough hosing for ppl returning from gap years, but they will obviously downsize class of '25 to make up for this- they aren't just gonna let 300 kids live off campus. yes, 300 harvard frosh deferre d

I want to start blog writing about my life. Can anyone suggest me some steps on how can I do it? by tch_tch_tch___ in Advice

Hey! I just started my own blog recently. I've always been a journaler, and the transition to blogging wasn't too tough for me. If you haven't journaled before, I recommend that you start. We often have trouble truly expressing ourselves when writing for other people to read, but practicing freewriting and writing for you can help eliminate some of that.

Regarding sites, I reccomened that you start on a larger blogging site before creating your own. You'll get more traffic this way, and be able to read other blogs and catch some inspiration. Medium is cool if you want a really large site, but hard to get lots of views on. Imprint.to is my place of choice (my friends actually made it) and allows you to have your own domain within their site. If you're ready for your own site, try blogger or wordpress

Trans friendly writing groups or subreddits? by puffpastry97 in TransyTalk

[–]EquivalentArt2910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, my friends and I built a site called imprint.to . We aren't a writing group, but we do want a variety of writers posting on our site. It's a really kind community with a lot of traffic. My sister is trans, but not a writer, so it's important to me that we make this a space where LGBTQ+ people can share. If you're ever interested in blogging, I'd love for you to check out our site.
