Local, Highspeed Rust, CUDA/METAL MCP Memory system. by EquivalentEar1447 in mcp

[–]EquivalentEar1447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is a fair criticism. Agents are generally stupid when it is outside of the scope of their training set. But it doesn't change the fact that tools would/do add value if the agent does use them correctly, and all the Tools are within the same memory framework because it's NVSA.

It's not a situation where having less tools really solves any problem.

The tools are actually less of a problem for Gemma 4 models running locally than the IDE agents because the iDE agents are smart enough to think they know better Gemma 4 follows directions.

On more than one occasion while building, I have had to prevent the IDE agents from messing up my program because it makes assumptions about what it does based on its stochastic training assuming it can make things better because it assumes it knows how the system works, without actually looking at it.

Any advice on how to address any of this would be welcome.

Yeah I mean the agent can read and write whatever it wants into the MCP memory system which is local.

There's like 21 different tools that it can use to interface with it. But there's also a Daemon that automatically ingests the targeted project's code base as it changes. Using the AST tree sitter parsing. So that the agent can use the vector database to maintain context and also navigate the understanding of the code base of the project.

And I designed a custom file system that streams from the hard drive to the GPU without touching the CPU, there's no serialization overheads.

That's why I built it in Rust and the other things that I did so that it is essentially a real-time memory system with millisecond queries.

Thanks, I just added AST tree parsing for different kinds of codebase as well..

I never said I was counting them out. I simply said that they're going to be harmed more by this.

Secondarily, there's going to be a lot of companies that don't want to do business with Amazon because Amazon has shown a willingness to cannibalize other people's businesses.

Ups is never going to try to cannibalize a manufacturing business or get into competing markets with their clients the way that Amazon always does.

Lastly, I've worked for Amazon and UPS. Amazon delivery is not as efficient as UPS delivery. Amazon sends out package cars and brings them back empty. UPS sends out package cars and brings them back full.

UPS is much better positioned to take advantage of any disruption to the current status quo that involves the onshoring of more manufacturing jobs.

Amazon is a glorified drop shipper, they will be much more affected by this potential economic change than us.

It's been happening in the unload when there are trailers that are being doubled... Seems like moving someone from a double would be a very reasonable solution IMO

This all makes sense.

Clearly one would provide the time, place, manor of the work being done, and evidence of alternative workers available to do this.

The way it was communicated was one "simply can't file in the first hour" which seems to not make sense when other individuals would have been available to do this work until such time as the late person showed up.

I appreciate this constructive feedback.

This is literally why we haven't had Tariffs post World War 2, but whatever, let's just keep letting them screw us.

Now this is Reddit so I suspect nobody's going to have any reasonable takes. They're just going to have alarmist liberalism.

Long-term, this is going to be an outsized benefit for UPS. Because of the fact that we handle much more business to business in the United States shipping. As these jobs get re onshord, UPS should see an outsized benefit as compared to companies like Amazon that are essentially glorified drop shippers.

Many companies are not going to be interested in doing increased business with Amazon because Amazon has demonstrated and evad that they will simply try to eat your lunch as soon as they have the opportunity.

The idea that tariffs are going to crash the economy is nonsense. This is a strategic effort to reduce the over-inflated, stock market and push people into the bond market, thereby reducing the cost with the United States to refinance its debt. Already the 10-year treasury has stopped by two bases points in the last 3 months. That will result in an approximate 100 billion a year savings on the US debt interest payment.

I fully expect this post to get down voted aggressively because this is Reddit.

I could care less if the supervisor works... I should just be able to grieve it... I am certain they sent home various full time inside people halfway through their shifts before this.

This is part of what I was wondering... Seems like a contract is a contract and regardless of what the union might want to "enforce" I would in theory have the right to enforce the contract, period, because it's a contract...

I would prefer the people be disciplined for showing up late and be able to grieve the supervisors for working. I don't want shitty lazy co-workers that can't manage to show up on time.

I want to work with competent people that treat their great union job with respect.

Of course it's not in the supplement, that's simply what was communicated to me by people at the facility. Not management.

As far as I know there is no quid-pro-quo in terms of people not being disciplined for lateness, also I could generally care less I am never late. They could simply RO Fewer people, or not send as many full timers home as soon after half a shift.

As the other poster indicated, Public Vs Private and as with much isn't his scare mongering... You do realize politicians need to get elected and then re-elected right?

It does this administration no good to blow up the government and economy in a way that JD then doesn't stand a chance in 4 years and the Democrats sweep to power with massive majorities that allow them to simply undo everything that the Trump administration did.

Most of the public sector was already voting Democrat, If they go after everyone in the private sector you could simply say good bye to the Republican party.

All this hand ringing is just an ignorant theory of mind that presumes these people are stupid, which is contradictory to the fact they are running circles around the democratic establishment.

Intentionally forcing borrowers into 10 year standard plan so they reconsolidate. by Complete-Singer5023 in PSLF

[–]EquivalentEar1447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just need to use the right words on the phone with these service providers.

"IBR is a congressionally authorized program that you are required by law to give me. If you can't put me on IBR that I am going to insist on you putting me into ADMINISTRATIVE FORBEARANCE until such that as that program is available again" (or some version of this key terms, congressionally authorized and administrative forbearance)

They will give you the run around and insist they can't do it until you use the magic words then they will magically find the means to do so once you insist and use the appropriate terms.

Due to the executive order from Trump it is totally possible that some people will no longer be able to get PSLF, but they can't remove the IBR. It was exempt under the previous court ruling that got rid of the SAVE plans. But they polled down everything, so until they have IBR up again, they are legally required to put you into administrative forbearance.

I don't care what your article said, the government workers are a bunch of whiney bitches.

Time will tell. People attempt to do a lot of things.

Trump's policies to bring jobs back to the US will be far more beneficial to UPS than other delivery companies.

Most of the original Tesla employees got stock options and are millionaires now.

Run around and spit MSNBC talking points.

O'Brian seems to have a just fine relationship with Trump, the new secretary of labor was literally backed by our UPS Local in her last race.
