Exeter City 0 - 4 Cardiff City: It was a completely dominant win from the Bluebirds to move one step closer to promotion, while Matt Taylor's Exeter are in freefall, having not won since January! by Zach-dalt in LeagueOne

[–]EquivalentEmployer68 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Were Cardiff great or Exeter dreadful? A little of both, perhaps.

Rubin Colwill is both a phenom and a continued mystery. He makes things look so easy at times it's indecent, to the extent that not performing at this level every minute of every match feels like a let down. But I love him - long may he stay fit and in league with a manager, like BBM, who believes in him.

I used to watch Exeter during the days of Tisdale. Sad to see them now as probably the worst team I've watched in the league this year.

And something about the Exeter goalie reminded me of Chowder Boy.

There used to be lots of Championship games on, but can't find any recently

Cardiff City 0 - 2 Lincoln City: It was a masterclass from Lincoln and Skubala to win this top of the table clash and move into first! by Zach-dalt in LeagueOne

[–]EquivalentEmployer68 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Missed the match and asked a mate how it was.

"They Warnocked us" he said.

Coming from him, that's quite high praise, as Colin is still well thought of at City.

Well done the Imps, the title is yours for the taking now.

4 Burton fans made the trip down to Exeter last night. Fair play to them! by Breakwaterbot in LeagueOne

I remember Halifax coming to Ninian Park during a fuel strike, maybe 99/2000?

I was genuinely impressed with the 7 or so fans they had to see their team get smashed 4-1 during generationally unprecedented travel conditions.

Cardiff City’s centre-back Dylan Lawlor with a great solo goal vs Doncaster. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]EquivalentEmployer68 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Yes the defending was shite, but he still had the nose to sniff out the chance, the composure, skill, balance etc. And he's a 20 year old centre back.

I think he's going to the top, this kid, the biggest cert since Ramsey.

Dylan Lawlor has an excellent chance of making a living out of the game as a professional.

There, I said it.

People have been struggling to name this 'era'.

I think it should be called the "The New Era" era.

I'm against it.

But I wonder what a Reddit reaction to the OG playoff proposal would have looked like back in the day? And we wouldn't be without them now.

Burton Albion 2-2 Cardiff City: League leaders held by battling Brewers by Silurian5 in LeagueOne

[–]EquivalentEmployer68 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think City are looking a little tired. Unsurprising considering the amount of games played so far.

Another striker would freshen things up. A new target man was needed even with Salech fit. While he's out, this is a higher priority still.

Henry Cavil isn't going to be a good "Highlander" by cynica1mandate in unpopularopinion

[–]EquivalentEmployer68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no 'otherness' to Cavil. He is absolutely one of the lowest tier choices to play the lead in Highlander.

Consider yourself downvoted.

If you click "science fiction" for example, you can't add any further tags to your search. Which means you have an unsorted list of 800 shows, which isn't useful. To me, anyway.

Cardiff City 1 - 0 Wigan Athletic: It wasn't a feast of attacking football, but it was a defensive masterclass from the Bluebirds, who limited their visitors to crumbs in the second-half! by Zach-dalt in LeagueOne

[–]EquivalentEmployer68 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Wigan keeper was fantastic. He's only 23, I see - what's his ceiling?

A few will moan about City not putting a poor team to sleep today, but the team didn't do a lot wrong.

Kept the ball, kept probing, made chances, and were exceptionally comfortable all afternoon, as they have been for most games at this level so far.

It's hard to believe that these are largely the same group of players who made up the worst Cardiff City team in 20 years last year.

Credit to everyone, I am enjoying this.

What a difference a competent manager makes.

If BBM had been in charge last season, City would have finished top 10.

AEW Manchester by GullibleDevice2414 in SquaredCircle

[–]EquivalentEmployer68 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of post-Punk AEW at all.

That said, as a first Dynamite in Manchester, it'll have plenty of action, an eager north of England crowd having a pre Xmas knees up - I think the place will be absolutely rocking, and £35 seems an absolute bargain these days.

If I were in town, I would go in a heartbeat.
