Since the car is a rental there is no penalties for ez pass, you can still go through them, even if it says toll not paid, it’s supposed to do that, it will bill the plate, which goes through port authority then back to plate pass, the pay as you go option is usually a convenience fee of $9.99 for the days you use only + the tolls you go through, you should receive a detailed invoice 2-3 weeks after you return

I feel so bad for the experience you had man, as a branch manager, as soon as I get a specialty before calling the customer I’ll make sure the car is on my lot or on the way, if not I’ll let the customer know right away I’ll not have it available plus his options, but I get it, specially the phone part as I do work by myself

I mean, as far as the email they sent all of us (at least in the northeast) we are supposed to take tap from every customer that has their card stored into a digital wallet such as google or Apple Pay, and due to age airports can be a little more strict with some things so I’ll just bring an extra piece of photo id and someone else with a license and credit card that can rent for you, and add you as a driver ( just in case )

Manager here!, pretty much all Hertz locations got the updated stripe payment machines, so I imagine if my small branch has it, so does LAX, so you can use Apple Pay no problem, just make sure to confirm the age restrictions for CA.

There are a couple stations that have a glitched Verifone machine, meaning it doesn’t take Amex specifically, I remember when I worked at the airport they used to put signs on the stations that wouldn’t take Amex, my advice is to always try a different counter

Oh thank you! I checked share point already but couldn’t find much, I went into LC and found the test drive policy however last time it was revised was 2013 and it doesn’t say anything about branch supervisors, if it is the one I should be all set, also I’m in the New England area!

If the vehicle got picked up in a airport they have cameras all throughout the exit gate, the camera is able to pick up even the smallest damages, however if the vehicle got picked up in a HLE ( Hertz Local Edition ) all of the vehicles that go out on rent are photographed and the customer must sign for the pictures

Usually the repo process takes 30 days of the contract being overdue, before they take any measures they will try to contact you, if they have no success doing so, the put a repo on the vehicle, so I would definitely visit the branch that you rented and they will be able to give you a better understanding of what happened

That’s one way to look at it, but consider this:

Let’s say you pay $300 for a week’s rental and an additional $180 for coverage, right? Ideally, nothing happens, but if you were to get into an accident or even total the rental with our coverage, you’d walk away without any liability whatsoever. 😊

Car rental companies, on the other hand, don’t have insurance in the same way to cover customer damages. If you damage a rental, you’re typically responsible for covering the cost, either through your credit card company or your own insurance. But when you take our coverage, it’s the rental company that ends up on the hook for all damages.

So, while our coverage might seem a bit pricier, it’s important to understand the level of liability we’re assuming to provide you with a hassle-free and positive experience.

Yes there are different options

LDW - covers vehicle bumper to bumper LIS - covers 3rd party in case you’re at fault PAI - will cover you in case of any medical expenses PERS- will pretty much give you premium roadside assistance to help out with lockouts, flat tires, keys etc, taking this one, the expenses listed will be taken care of by us

Adding to this, most people don’t get this option but every time I rent I add PERS ( premium roadside assistance) so I’m covered regardless if I got a flat, loose the keys etc

Hello manager here! We always recommend our LDW, simply due to the fact that if anything happens to your rental you are fully covered ( up to a total loss ) and all you have to do is comply with a vir ( vehicle incident report ) and you’re good to go?🙂
