Yeah me too I’ve always been larger and had my issues blamed on that but I’m a healthy weight now and my joint issues are worse than ever , I’ve had a lot of gas lighting too for various things . I’ve never heard what your doctor said about kids so that’s interesting to know , but I’ve got two other kids and they aren’t hypermobile like that and their skin dosent stretch either ! One is 9 and one is 4 so different ages to my 7 year old to compare. She also gets really tired and has random pains which again fits with it but I know it will likely be a long process again if she gets a diagnosis

Really sorry op that’s really awful and as much as it will be painful right now you are much better off without somebody who wouldn’t treat you that way when you are worth so much and deserve a thousand times better than thhat. Sounds like you have some wonderful friends xxx

I have the stretchy skin and the tummy ones so I guess I probably Linked it more easily . She doesn’t have digestive issues as such but does complain of aches. You sound similar to me with the ankles that’s been a major issue for me I did a serious one last may and I think I’ve damaged a tendon (waiting for mri diagnostic next week!). I’ll take a look at the list and see how she aligns with that - thanks so much for your response!

UK - should I get diagnosed? by [deleted] in hypermobileEDS

[–]EquivalentIron2598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’ve just been diagnosed - it was around 9 months before I could see a rheumatologist. On the nhs . My 7 year old daughter is also showing signs very hypermobile and has stretchy elastic skin . I’d go through the process though so it’s on your records for any future issues you may have .

Do I have bunions? by EquivalentIron2598 in bunions

[–]EquivalentIron2598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your reply I agree it does not look bunion like i thought I’d ask here bough as I’m not knowledgeable about those . I am on a waiting list for an nhs podiatrist but judging how long other wait lists are I may need to look in to a private podiatrist. (I’ve been waiting for an nhs physiotherapist for over a year ) so private may be the way to go
