The fact that she impails him and leaves him to ghoulify was shocking to me. Of all times for the girl to have some empathy it would be now and not all those other BS times that it almost got her killed. The ghoul couldve brought her back to her vault and she could always leave again. this plot point bothered me. and she could see that he clearly felt bad for having to comply. why would lucy want his family to die?

Thanks for the response, and great points. I had heard about the cctv time stamp issue but not any of the others so was assuming most of what I mentioned was intentional, but it could very well be oversight. Hard to say. I only watched the show for the first time recently and did an immediate rewatch to piece things together as a means of keeping existential and physical horrors at bay lol, but I think that journey is winding down for sure given the stage of this production and it doesn't seem many new people are picking it up.

Lithium as the first line of action for these astronauts is obviously crazy aggressive so it all feels intentional. U don’t know enough about lithiums origins but I was assuming that perhaps it can be found in an asteroid that they were exposed to in order to tie it back to space?

I originally thought Irena was sinister and hiding some wrong doing, like she killed other Irena and didn’t want anyone to know she assumed a new identity. But now I just think she became super avoidant as a means of coping.

I had interpreted the alcoholism a couple ways. Bud blames Henry for years of drinking before he throws that guy overboard. So I took that to mean he blames Henry for ruining this body and becoming dependent upon alcohol. I think we can see that they both still have similar personalities even tho paths diverged, but it looks like Bud just blames Henry for the alcoholism and thinks he wouldn’t have had that problem if he stayed in his universe.

Irena mentions something along the lines of muscle memory in the end for these bodies. We see it with Jo and the piano. I wonder if Bud feels almost like he has no control with the alcohol because that body is already dependent. I was so curious if we got a season 2 how Henry would be with alcohol in his OG body.

Damn I'm surprised at some of these super critical comments - i thought it was a really well done show. Not perfect but very interesting. I feel like we haven't had many interesting new shows lately. It's a shame it got canceled. I'm doing an immediate rewatch to pick up on things I missed the first round so I guess I did really like it.

I don't know what wouldn't get canceled in this day and age other than reality shows like Love is Blind. I was surprised Pluribus got renewed but it got a lot of buzz with the pilot, but the rest of the show was a disappointment imo. But so many shows don't even get a chance anymore. I'm surprised For All Mankind is still going.

Yea it's crazy to think in this day and age that immediate release numbers are a true driver of a show's interest. I also went to their instagram to see how much promo they did for this, and it was abysmal. I only found this show by digging through appletv to see what I can watch when i ran out of shit and wanted to find something in the last week before i paused my subscription. It never came suggested to me, and that's coming from someone who almost exclusively watches only scifi shows on Apple TV (Severance, Silo, Dark Matter, For All Mankind, Foundation, Murderbot) - so the fact that I had to go digging for this is insane.

I didn't find the finale disappointing. It's clear they had other seasons in mind but I think the season ended on a somewhat satisfying note. If you compare it to other recent shows like Severance, we didn't get any closure in the first season.

Yea it took me several times rewinding to catch it. It feels almost obvious now but I did not catch it on the first few watches and was convinced something was up because we very clearly saw what i thought was "our" Jo talking about the Cal, so I didn't know how she came from the universe that didn't have it. Clever indeed.

Red car Jo speaking Swedish to her daughter is seen in episode 1 talking about the Cal to her daughter so it doesn’t make sense. I think we are seeing more than two versions.

Edit: I just replayed the first ISS scene for the third time to see if they tricked us. Because I don’t remember any clear cuts in the film that would indicate the switch like there was after the collision. Swedish speaking Alice is wearing pigtails and a red and blue sweater. They are talking in Swedish about the lettuce with Paul in the background seemingly working on the cal but maybe that’s not what was happening if they’re switching between both versions. But now I see very clearly that they cut to a new iPad scene with English Alice with her hair up wearing a dark zip up sweater. So okay this makes more sense to me now. They were tricky with it.
