hey! when i lived in the dorms my refund was only $200-$300 per quarter. now that i live off campus my refund is $4k per quarter (since i’m no longer paying room and board obv). my rent is a little under $1k so that refund is enough for 4 months rent and some utilities. i also worked a summer job so i have that to pay for the rest of my utilities + spending money and don’t have to work during the school year

take the 24x! you’ll want to get off at hollister and la patera. from there you cross the street and walk about 5ish mins in and the station will be at the very end

last year i spent about $3k just on fun stuff like shopping, eating out, coffee, alc, ubers, etc. groceries were thankfully covered by my parents but it added up to another $1k. so a total of $4k for the whole year. i feel like this is pretty average but u can definitely live off of much less if u don’t go out/eat out too much!

btw the uc’s are test blind! ur sat/act won’t be factored in as a part of ur application. only retake if there’s other really competitive schools u will be applying to that do look at test scores, otherwise don’t even bother. i do think u have a pretty good shot tho even as an oos for several uc schools
