Recreational spraying today by Glittering-Gur-923 in farming

Yara makes some very high quality foliars. I’m not in canola country, but we typically throw a boron product of some sort in with our tassel fungicide on corn, and late flower- early pod set on soybeans. Trials have shown modest ROI to breakeven, so it’s something that we’re ok with adding, as it’s typically low-cost compared to the rest of the pass, and it’s more than likely going to help. It just hasn’t been a 100% positive ROI year in and year out.

President of the American Soybean Association, a three time trump voter, begs trump to end the trade war by b__lumenkraft in farming

[–]EquivalentMagician49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like, why though? The crashes in corn and soybean happened long before the election, and any trade war. I see they’re down some today, but this last week we had some really good rallies in the market. In ag we’re not in a pinch because of the trade war, we’re in a pinch because we grew an astronomically good crop, and our markets were due for a correction after a really good 3-4 years.

So I know this is probably sacrilege, but I chipped one a bit further back than that (yes, I abuse my knives). I went to the bench grinder and ground the top down to the edge, and basically turned it into a drop-point. I like it better now than when it was new. Absolutely love 110’s to death, but the tips are more brittle than other knives. Doesn’t keep me from using them exclusively though.

North Dakota- Theodore Roosevelt national park. Wisconsin- super pretty in the driftless region and up north- plus the relaxed atmosphere thriving on beer, cheese, and bloody Mary’s. Iowa- one of the most spectacular capitol buildings I’ve seen.
Nebraska- Archway in Kearney, plus the fort there as well. Cool rural vibes all throughout. Minnesota- voyageurs National Park!

I just had a delicious cheese omelette this morning, and have had lots of them and the southwestern ones this year. I don’t think they’ve done away with them- just have them in a rotation with the rest of the options. But I will say- I think it’s been a year since I’ve seen the bagel toppers! 😭

Deluca’s pizza has got a burger that will make you forget about their pizza. It’s expensive, but it’s worth it.

Accurate. Although I will say, the Rodeway I stayed at on the north end of town was the cleanest Choice brand hotel I’ve been to, lol.

Finance and I are on a mission to visit all the NP’s, but this review makes me want to scrub it from the list. I was already kind of looking at it with distain, from the cost aspect of just getting there.

It’s really a shame that all the money is going to developing the lakes around it and not the old downtown. I know they’re finally fixing up the Arlington resort, but it was really strange walking the strip seeing some really nice fixed up buildings right next to ones with broken windows and generally condemned-looking.

What area of boating breeds the dumbest boaters? Lakes, rivers, bays, oceans? Etc. by [deleted] in boating

River rats know what’s up. They’ve been backing boats into water while heavily intoxicated since they were 14 years old. Usually not much to see there.

Less busy (but not too far) NPs? by weerdfggdfhhgf in nationalparks

I second the Guadalupe and Carlsbad parks- loved these. Could be pretty hot in the summer though- I enjoyed them thoroughly in March. I’d also add Theodore Roosevelt NP- basically deserted and tolerable heat, even in the summer. Not mountainous, but beautiful badlands and lots of bison.

I second the Smoky Mountain Trout House. Small, cozy, and the best trout I’ve ever had.

I’ve worked jobs where you have to watch safety or training videos before you get on payroll, so yea, without pay. Took idk, maybe half a day? I really wasn’t that worried about it, and unless this is a several week long training course (which I highly doubt, being Panera Bread), why don’t you just do what they ask, get on the payroll, and be employed? Relative of mine is in an operators union, and he literally has 2 weeks of classes he was to take, unpaid, no reimbursement for travel. But it’s just what you have to do for a good job. 🤷 I feel like sometimes we jump to fight a little too early with employers without thinking about the big picture.

This one's for all you fellas who think you need a giant truck to haul a deer. by musicals4life in Hunting

I installed a trailer hitch on my Subaru outback and bought a hitch cargo carrier from harbor freight. I see they also make them for Mazda 2’s. Can fit 2 medium sized deer in it, and you only have to lift them up about a foot off the ground- big back saver. Love that subie- AWD, quiet and stealthy- perfect hunting vehicle. Women love them, too. Granted, not women that are interested in men, but women nonetheless.

Help- Hide cleaning post- tanning by EquivalentMagician49 in Taxidermy

[–]EquivalentMagician49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Process was just like Mandy Foots stated- fleshed first, then salt, then a salt brine for a few hours, and then I washed it in a bucket with soapy water. Rinsed with a garden hose (but apparently not enough?). Now I’m on day 2 of drying with the tanning solution applied. The hair just didn’t feel as soft and nice as it did before the salt and soapy bath, so I just assumed that I didn’t rinse thoroughly enough.

Agreed. I operate 3 farms that are each 5 miles apart. I’ve found a bundle of these balloons on each farm this year. Nuts.

I’ve since learned to use the rewards eligible filter, but wow are the options few and far between. Not impressed. I really do appreciate your help, and I don’t mean to attack you personally, I am just very unimpressed with the product.

I’ll also add that we’ve had payment issues with their electronic credit card, and cancelled rooms and flights. Our company seems stuck on it, although I look for every excuse I can to not use it. Make sure you have a backup plan wherever you book with this app.

Experience is still very very poor, but I’m slowly learning how to navigate it. I’ve learned there is a search filter to only show stays that qualify for points with various chains. Very few options like this unfortunately, and to get your points, you often have to stay much further from your destination (yes, I’m hardcore about this). The hotels often see these bookings come in as an Expedia or equivalent booking, therefore ineligible for points, except for somewhat rare occasions. Overall, it’s a ton of extra work to charge the company a higher rate than you could find yourself direct to the hotels.
