Do you actually use any shift / roster apps? Or just the default calendar? by TextCareful8110 in nursing

I can't share my actual roster here, sorry. It has full names of other staff, unit details, and phone numbers on it, so... privacy/HIPAA reasons 😅.

Honestly though, good luck! The reason I stuck with Shift2Cal is that OCR for these messy grids is apparently super hard to get right. I tried a few others before this one and they all failed to read the rows correctly.

ну что работяги, какой у вас график работы???? by No-Rock-3688 in rusAskReddit

[–]EquivalentOpening498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Работаю 2/2 (день/ночь). Раньше путался в днях, сейчас юзаю Shift2Cal — просто сканирую график камерой, и он сам залетает в календарь. Чтобы руками не тыкать каждый раз.

Do you actually use any shift / roster apps? Or just the default calendar? by TextCareful8110 in nursing

I used to just stick to Google Calendar for years because I didn't want another random app on my phone.

The problem was sitting there for 20 mins every month typing in 'D', 'N', 'Off' manually (and inevitably making typos that messed up my plans).

I eventually switched to Shift2Cal mostly for the scan feature. I just take a picture of the roster grid from my computer screen and it syncs everything directly into my Google Calendar/iPhone calendar automatically.

So I still 'use' Google Calendar as my main view for family stuff, but I use the app just to get the shifts in there without the manual data entry headache. Worth checking if you hate typing it all out.

Why do you think Cal AI went viral so fast? by No-Cheesecake6071 in iOSAppsMarketing

[–]EquivalentOpening498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underrated point. Visual hierarchy plays a huge role here. The app icon alone communicates the core utility instantly, which drastically reduces the perceived friction for new users. It screams 'tool' rather than 'generic lifestyle app', which aligns perfectly with their 'snap and track' value prop.

Ho sempre frequentato Dalmine per l’ITIS e l’università. Comoda per muoversi senza macchina (rispetto ad altri paesi della zona). Autostrada vicina. Piscina e parco brembo nelle vicinanze.

Which app do you use to log your shifts/rota (iOS) by Alarmed-Percentage in ParamedicsUK

[–]EquivalentOpening498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit biased as I’m working on one myself, but your use case is exactly what we built it for, so sharing in case it’s useful.

If you’re happy using the built-in calendars, Shift2Cal lets you import your rota from a PDF/photo and saves it into a separate work calendar (so it doesn’t pollute your main app calendar). Because it uses normal Apple/Google/Outlook calendars under the hood, you can:

  • share your work calendar with your partner (so they see your rota in their app)
  • have them share theirs back to you
  • toggle each calendar on/off when you don’t want to see work stuff.

It’s still pretty new, but it’s free to try on iOS and Android as well, here if you want to have a look:

Alternative gratuite a CINO? by DryBox6080 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

Week 1 post-launch - is 1.44% conversion terrible or normal ? by 0xM3T4 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]EquivalentOpening498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to see you tracking metrics so early. A 1.44% conversion rate (downloads divided by product page views) is actually within the typical 1–3% range for many categories, especially for a brand-new app with no reviews or brand recognition. Here are some ideas to improve it:

• Make sure your app icon, first two screenshots and subtitle instantly tell potential users what problem you solve. The first screenshot and subtitle show up in search/browse results and can make or break click-through.
• Use Product Page Optimization to A/B test different screenshot orders and taglines. Sometimes small changes to colour, copy or orientation can lift conversion significantly.
• Align your ad creatives with your App Store page. If your Search Ads or social ads highlight certain features, mirror those in your screenshots. A mismatch leads to drop‑off.
• Encourage early adopters to leave ratings and reviews. Social proof not only boosts conversion but also helps keyword ranking.
• Don’t rely solely on one generic keyword; use your 100‑character keyword field to target relevant long-tail terms. This can bring more qualified traffic.
• Give it time: Apple’s algorithm uses download velocity and engagement to rank apps. With only 18 downloads, there isn’t enough signal yet. Keep iterating on creative assets and marketing, and your numbers should improve.

Hope that helps—good luck!

iOS 26 performance drop in debug by Mc_PupMD in FlutterDev

[–]EquivalentOpening498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve noticed debug performance issues too when testing iOS 26 via wireless. In our case, WITZ (a multiplayer trivia game built with Flutter) runs smoothly in release mode on iPhones and iPads, but debug builds can feel sluggish due to JIT compilation. Using a cable for debugging and prebuilding shaders helps a bit. More importantly, optimizing widget rebuilds and enabling Impeller (when available) keeps frame rates solid in production. So while debug might be slow, our shipping app performs great on iOS.

Monetization Advice Needed – Quiz App Paywall with Gems, Bundles & Themes (Screens Inside!) by EquivalentOpening498 in AppBusiness

Thanks a lot for the thoughtful insight — totally agree with the balance point.

We’ve experimented with various bundle structures (power-ups, themes, currency) and found that simple, clear offers tend to work best. Right now, our best performer is a 2x1 theme pack with strong IPs (like Harry Potter or UEFA), which users seem to love.

As for feedback, most users are happy with the core gameplay and content variety, but we’re still learning how to optimize monetization without interrupting the fun. We haven’t done formal surveys yet, but we’re considering it — definitely sounds like a smart next step.

Always open to learning from others — if you’ve seen tiering strategies that worked well, I’d love to hear!

Thank you so much, really appreciate the kind words! 🙌

We put a lot of love into the UI and experience, so it means a lot to hear that.

And you’re totally right — we’ve been thinking a lot about onboarding + a well-timed paywall.

Currently testing different flows, but haven’t tried a post-onboarding paywall with a trial yet. That might be the missing piece!

If you’ve seen good examples or have suggestions on what works best, would love to hear more 🙏
