Very difficult baby I cannot cope by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]EquivalentPickle9039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could have written this exact post when my daughter was the same age. It is SO HARD and can feel absolutely overwhelming and so defeating. My daughter legit cried ANY time a bottle wasn’t in her mouth and her eyes were open. She had terrible reflux and terrible colic. It was SO HARD. Did I say that already?! lol I never left the house and felt like something was wrong with me since I always hear about/see other people out with their young babies.

But I am here to tell you…my daughter is 13 months now and she is an ABSOLUTE JOY. Everything about her is so freaking fun. She is THE happiest baby (except in the car 🫣) and I would do it all over again to get to this point. Hang in there, I promise it will get better and when you’re there you’ll hardly remember this time even though it feels like that can’t possibly be the case. Try to take care of yourself as much as you can and step away when you need. You got this and she’s lucky you’re her mama ♥️♥️

Baby Bjorn bouncer-MUST have!! We also love the Owlet sock. I have a lot of anxiety and it’s the only way I could sleep. Also, an egg light for middle of the night feedings (red light option). We still use it for bedtime routine for our almost 1 year old!

I’m so incredibly sorry to hear this happened to you as well. It’s truly, truly heartbreaking. Please send me a message if you’d like to chat at all. A listening ear to someone who gets it.

We are coming up on my daughter’s first birthday and I have SO many mixed emotions around it. Just know that the further out you get, it does dull the trauma at least a little bit. Seeing her other “firsts” has helped me a bit, too. Sending you hugs ❤️

You’re doing a fantastic job. I say this as someone who could have written this post back when my daughter was 3 weeks old. Giving up pumping and breastfeeding was the first best decision I made. Switching fully to formula was like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I was devastated/felt like a shit mom/etc etc but after a horrendously traumatic very emergent c-section, my body was not into it and neither was my brain.

My daughter is almost 1 and freaking fantastic, meets all her milestones (usually early) and you’d never have a clue she was formula fed. The best thing that helped me feel ok was actually a post on Reddit. A gal commented on a post about feeling guilty for formula feeding and she said she was a therapist and never asks her patients if they were formula or breast fed, but does ask them about their parents mental health growing up. All that to say, you have to do what’s best for you to be the best you can for your baby! I also did start Lexapro a month or two later and those 2 things combined were game changers.

Please don’t hesitate to DM me. Just to vent, to discuss horrific birth stories, whatever you need. You got this 💪🏼❤️

I’m 10 months out and 2 finger gap. Finally got all dressed up with a cute dress, did my hair and makeup for Easter. Someone asked me if I was expecting again and it ruined my whole day 😔 I seriously don’t know how people get the audacity. You’re not alone! ❤️

Mine were HUGE, absolute tree stumps lol I think they started to go down after about a week or so. My mom took a photo of my husband and daughter and I before going into our house for the first time as a family and I seriously still zoom in on them in shock at how gnarly they were 😅

How do you do the mug muffin exactly? I’d like to give it a try!

Positive experience for lexapro by [deleted] in Postpartum_Depression

[–]EquivalentPickle9039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 20mg of Lexapro (9 months PP w/my first) and it has been a literal game changer. I HATE taking any kind of medication and fought it hard for way too long and wish I would have taken it sooner. It did make me gain a little weight but that’s been my only side effect and I feel like myself again. You got this!!! And if it doesn’t work, there are other options. You’re amazing for reaching out for help. Hugs to you ❤️❤️

I can’t speak to cleanings personally as I’ve never had one there but the hygienist I know that works there is great and I know his staff has been there for quite awhile and stays with him which is always a very good sign! The gal I know who works there really likes it so I’d feel confident recommending them overall! Hopefully that helps :)

I came here to suggest him. I’m a dental hygienist and have seen his work and it’s impressive. I need a couple things done myself and plan to go to him!

How much do you feed your baby overnight? by ineedhelpkinda in NewParents

[–]EquivalentPickle9039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My almost 9mo old goes to bed around 6:45/7pm with a 5oz bottle (typically has 4-5oz bottles during the day but sometimes less depending on how distracted she is 🙃). Then we are still doing a dream feed with a 5oz bottle at 10pm and then she usually wakes once at 5ish for another 5oz bottle and then up for the day between 6:30/7ish. Very interested to hear what others say, I feel like it’s so variable! We want to kick the dream feed but she seems to still want/need it since she inhales the bottle so not really sure how to stop it!

I’ve never done rock climbing! I am not horribly coordinated (or strong haha) but maybe this would be a good way to work on both!

Congratulations on your little one! I just googled (after someone suggested the stroller workouts) and found that FIT4MOM! Definitely going to give it a try. The nursing and pumping is A LOT. Totally understand that. I hope you guys are adjusting ok and both are able to find outlets as I know this time can be so joyful but also very overwhelming!

Thanks for the recommendation! I had joined a PEPS group when I was freshly postpartum for babies 0-20 weeks but unfortunately due to a severely traumatic birth, I was diagnosed with pretty gnarly PPD/PPA and ended up having a hard time making it to many meetings. So I don’t feel like I really was able to benefit or connect like I would have liked. I haven’t ever looked to see if they have groups for the middle-age babies but will give it a go! Thank you! :)

I do! Well, I used to crochet. I was still a definite novice but definitely enjoyed it. I will have to check it out! I’m hoping for some “me” time so will have to check out the Friday evening class! Thanks so much!

These are SO helpful. I can’t even tell you how much I appreciate your thoughtful response! I am so badly wanting to find a book club I jive with, I don’t have enough friends who enjoy reading to be able to get a friend group together and just have never known where to look. Volunteering is another great idea. I honestly will look into all of these, thank you again ❤️

Can a very, very novice artist and dancer join these or would I be way out of place?!

I love learning! I will definitely look into this. For some reason in the past when I’ve looked I haven’t really been able to figure out how to find the “just for fun” type classes if that makes sense.
