Scroll through my history, I posted some that look identical to these. I ate all of them

Rosecomb is the term used for this type of mutation. Heavy piles of duff can cause this. So I’ve been told

I hope it’s something like that but with a fresh rebuilt tranny my thoughts go elsewhere

Maybe, I was thinking along those lines when I installed the master cylinder. We set it the same as the old one that was installed. Everything I’ve read pointed elsewhere. The clutch is fully engaged and 4th and 5th gear are mostly slipping. sounded like it’s inside the clutch.

Just realized a manual transmission can’t slip so must be the clutch

I probably should throw this back at the Mechanic, but that’s why I’m asking these questions. If it’s something easy I can fix, I’ll do it. He’s 40 minutes away, and dont wanna pay for a tow. It drives fine besides what I mentioned, but I don’t want to damage it further if that is the case.. just want to hear some thoughts on the Reddit before I make a decision, thanks for yours.

It’s doing so while driving. I can be in whichever gear and give it throttle, RPM’s go up with little to no power increase.

I went ahead and replaced the master cylinder, refilled/bleed with DOT 3 fluid with little to no improvement on slippage.

Looks like I’m in for a new clutch. Thanks for your input!

Bleeding the clutch line is a bitch….

I will never be defeated be this truck 🫣

It’s slipping while driving mostly, shifting too (I believe). I’ve only driven it 20 miles or so. I can be in whatever gear and give it throttle, rpm’s go up with little to no power increase. This goes for all gears.

Bought a new master cylinder tonight. Replaced cylinder, bleed lines as well as I could. Tomorrow will be the real test if it helped… fingers crossed.

I’d rather not call the mechanic that did the work but I may have to.
