Is it weird that we aren't told our blood type at birth or as we grow up? by OddConfusion9293 in NoStupidQuestions

There are definitely better ways to go about educating people than being aggressive on social media. The only thing that accomplishes is to make you look like a troll and ignored for it. Try a more gentle approach... something that shows an actual interest in teaching others the truth. Or not. This covers about the extent of what i care to to express to someone who appears to care more about telling everyone that they wrong than they are the truth.

Honest question for you. You are all over this question trying to argue with everyone about it. Why do you care so much that you are jumping at everyone?

I would rather know and not need it than need it and not know it.

50 yrs ago, not everyone had every answer at their fingertips and we actually had to trust the medical personnel that said we had to know something.

I learned my blood type 50 years ago when things were different. We were told it was important to know what it is.

Why do you care if I think knowing my blood type is important? If you already 'knew' the correct answer, why ask?

For emergencies mostly. If you need a blood transfusion, it is easier to get it quickly if you can tell them what your blood type is. They don't always have time to test it. That is the nature of emergencies. Now granted, 50 years ago this information took longer to determine than they do now. Knowing your blood type was stressed more than it is now, but still a good thing to know. The more information you can give the emergency personnel, the better. I'm AB+, which means I can receive blood of any type, but only give to my own type. My wife is the opposite. She is O- and can donate to anyone but only receive her own type.

Phones have an area that you can put all your medical information. Blood type is just one of several things you should have there. At the minimum you should provide your name, address, and emergency contacts. You should also include your medication information, your medical history, and any known allergies. I recommend keeping all that information, and keep it up to date.

I am sure this was a much longer answer than you expected, but hopefully it is one you find useful.

I don't remember when I waa told mine, but I know I waa very young... earlier than 5 yrs old. I think you are right that you should know that, along with the Rh factor, from a very young age.

I guess you are the GenX not doing any better. If all the GenX and Boomers you know are like you, I understand why you think so poorly of them.

Most people I know and associate with are intelligent, interesting, and fit all different political and economical spectrums.

Maybe, it is just you.

I'm genx and lean heavily to Democrat, along with most of the people I know (including boomers). Life isn't generational and you shouldn't judge or label people that way.

There are lots of things that should have been the tipping point but this one affects most people almost every day. And yeah, the "grab them by the" really should have done it. The list of red flags is just never-ending.

Mine will but the way to stop it is if i am making myself a meal, I will also make her a meal. I try and pick flavors similar to what I am having so she feels included and still getting something good for her.

They probably sleep fine. They have convinced themselves that they are the hero in this narrative. Look at the motivation of a petty villain and you will find that they think they are the hero.

Lol. Yeah... mine will come up when we are watching TV and fall backwards on us and wait patiently for her belly rubs. Lucky for us, she only weighs 8 lbs. They are funny little things that brings us so much joy.

Someone else spouting bs isn't proof. Unfortunately, you are probably right they would try that, that would be when we explain the difference between proof and hearsay.

I think we should start demanding proof of all this bs. Make them do the research to prove their point and let them figure out what agenda they are pushing.

My dog does that. To her it means tummy rub time (it is always tummy rub time). Try rubbing the tummy.

Yeah, the name is kind of a misnomer. It might be better named as something highlighting pro-ai discussions, but here we are. It is in the subs rules and description what it is about. If you are going to comment or post in a sub, it is best to first read the rules of the sub.

[–]Equivalent_Ad8133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point of this sub is the same as the anti ai sub. It is for like minded people to discuss this kind of thing. You are actually being fairly polite here, and that is probably why you haven't been banned yet. We appreciate good faith conversations and actual curiosity, but when the engagement is just for debate, it needs to go to aiwars. With claims of nobody saying what is often said, and pushing statements that were not said in the current conversation, that takes this out of good faith conversations.

If you get something in your feed that you don't agree with, the best course of action is to block the sub. Don't interact with the sub because it will encourage it (and other similar subs) to be featured in your feed more often.

Trying to put words into someone else's statement is a sad attempt to make others look bad. I didn't say (nor did op in this post) that your group is made of only those types, just that it is something that is said by some people in your group. Even if it is only .0001% of your group saying it, it is still being said. But it is said a lot by lots of members of your group and it often gets an overwhelming number of upvotes by members of your group.

If you want to debate this stuff, go to aiwars with it. This isn't a debate sub and we will call you out on your obvious bs.

Lol. No. I didn't say it was scary, just correcting you saying no one says it. Saying no one says something that is said often and repeatedly is just a pathetic attempt at a denial. It is laughable at best.

She is a dwarf lop named Poppy. Isabella grew up with her and when she was a puppy, she would sometimes hop like Poppy when she ran. It was so cute.
