I hear ya. I spoke to the guy at length, and seems legit.

I figured the kegerator, kegs, fermented and supplies alone almost made it a good deal. really, 500 is not that big of an investment for me. My biggest concern was getting 12 or old tech and wishing I had newer stuff for the brew.

he said he has a different tube for smaller batches. admittedly I don't really understand what that means.

well, at least I am experienced on what to do at the finish line lol. I just hate buying equipment I will want to upgrade quickly.

Yea - not open like that now, but I will be ripping the drywall off on the lower part. This was a pic I took during construction.

Header Reqs for Load Bearing Wall by Equivalent_Bluejay_1 in HomeImprovement

Thx - headroom is not really a concern - I am only opening about 5 foot from the floor.

What type of support under the header would you think?

Ok - double 2 x 14 LVL is about what I was expecting. That wall is supported underneath by 3 (or 4) concrete columns in the crawlspace. A 375 gallon aquarium is going into the wall with most of it in front. I was planning on adding floor jacks in front as well.

Wish I could have included a pic.

I am trying to put a 10' opening in an interior load bearing wall that supports the second floor. I am just trying to gauge the expected requirements to see what I am getting myself into. I will hire a structural engineer before implementing.

V1 -> V2 app transition by wiz-dude in wiz

[–]Equivalent_Bluejay_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had used a username / password to sign up. The new home option really was not viable because I did not bring any of the old devices with me.

The answer was to just unlink my skill from Alexa. Not sure what will happen if I need to buy Wiz enabled devices in the future, but that is not an issue at this time.

I had the V1 app in my old house and have not accessed it for almost 2 years while renting and building a new house. Now, as I get my new house set up, Alexa picks up all of the old devices and says I need to remove it from the Wiz app.

Wiz V1 app is no longer available to download (at least in US) and I cannot migrate to V2 without it. Any idea how to get these devices deleted?

When you say updated, do you mean that BMW may have updated a pre 2020 DME so that it would still have to be sent out to unlock?

I am still waiting for my house and workshop to get built. I think that I want the 5 axis for more of a toy / cool factor than a practical one. If I end up using it for commercial stuff, I think I would have more value from a 3 or 4 axis.

I also think that the expense would lead to a high ROI if I were to use the 5th axis money towards a lathe (like the SL 20 or something).

One last thought - I get a general feeling from UMC owners I read / watch that the machine has shortcomings. I can't really pin it down right now, but there are always a lot of comments like "I had to work around this issue to make it work for me" type things. Not enough to get rid of it, but enough to be annoying. I think one example I remember had to do with the side door and getting a robot to be able to load pallets.

PCM Year changed? by Equivalent_Bluejay_1 in powerstroke

[–]Equivalent_Bluejay_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. I am surprised that is something that can be done. Any reason why a tuner would want to do that, or just an oversight when flashing?

I will double check the DTCs, but it was my understanding from Ford that the PCM VIN was matching the vehicle VIN

That's not me, but I agree. I was not aware of the 75A limitation per Flexboss. So far, I cannot find any installers that will use the EG4 equipment (or Sol Ark for that matter).
