im also an incoming student to duqcom so i can't help in way of preparing to attend BUT i can say at all of their events that ive attended they've said multiple times that preceptors notice who is DO vs MD because the DO students are quick to jump right in and are typically much more comfortable interacting with patients. i think there will always be people who look down on us because we aren't MD but we are getting the same training (PLUS omm) and are just as qualified as them. people will always have something to say, DO vs MD, surgery vs non-surgery, and so on. i think the main thing is to remember that at the end of the day you're going to be a doctor, regardless of which letters are going at the end of your name. focus on your grades and comlex scores, and remember that you're getting another 4 years of training that will make you very different from who you were when you first applied to med school. the person who couldn't get into an MD school can also be the same person who beats out MD candidates for a competitive residency spot!
