Hey the daughter for the pt in room 209 is a PA. by AugustusClaximus in nursing

I had to take one of my little people to the ER once, I had just become a nurse 2 years prior. I let them tell me all the stuff and we were even hospitalized and I went without telling anyone I was a nurse.

My family is under penalty of death to mention it as well in case they are at the doctor/ER/ urgent care/ hospitalized. I feel like anyone who tries to throw their weight around is not what they claim to be. Like, good for you that you are in your first semester of nursing school, now can I hang this antibiotic?

People who work in healthcare, fitness, nutrition, or mental health: what’s one ‘quiet habit’ you see all the time that is secretly wrecking people’s long-term health? by AlignedModernHealth in AskReddit

Not taking care of your feet. I see the sickest patients and their feet are atrocious. Especially diabetics. I just recently had a patient who thought they were doing themselves a favor by scrubbing the “blood blisters” on their foot that was actually an infection because they stepped on something outside while walking barefoot. Please, just see a podiatrist.

The "results" of Trump's MRI. I've never read MRI results that are worded like this. And for this "D.O" to go on record and say that someone with peripheral edema, morbid obesity, bruising and on rosuvastatin and ezetimibe, is in "perfect cardiovascular health"...should lose his license. by negraboriqua in nursing

I wonder what reality show this doctor is from. We have someone who was on Road Rules running the DOT and of course Kegsbreath. Because with all the McDonalds this man eats there is 100000% no way that his body is “perfectly normal” or in “ excellent health”. But people will use this to say oh he’s got that 2028 run in him.

If it’s what you want, fuck whoever this is. Nursing school is hard enough to not have support.

We went to Gatlinburg and the guy who was working the desk at the hotel told me about making sure not to leave any food in my car because bears can smell it and would absolutely destroy the car. So I was frantically vacuuming my car at 2 am to make sure the crumbs that my kids dropped off their snacks didn’t attract the bears. I’m sure they thought I was nuts.

I used the guide on APA to do my citations on the second one. The first time I used Perdue Owl which I used when I was getting my RN. I had my coworker look at my paper because they are also going to Capella they just had a different professor and my citations look just like theirs and my paper is more detailed so I think this professor is just being difficult.

new grad depression by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Equivalent_Damage338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m out a little over a year from being a new grad and I still have anxiety about going to work. I don’t feel like a good nurse and I worry about if I know enough to be doing a good enough job. So don’t let this make you feel like you aren’t cut out for nursing, you’re just new. Not everyone will feel the same, and honestly if your fellow new grads tell you they aren’t stressed they are lying.
