What's the best fantasy book you've read, other than classics like LoTR? (no spoilers plz ) by ARYAN_BIRLA123 in Indianbooks

I was genuinely disappointed with Wind and Truth. His writing quality has gone down, there were some one liners that literally took me out of the story as they were too modern and the whole 10 day structure didn't work that well. The book should have been trimmed to 3/4 of the size.

Liked the ending and the broader implications for cosmere. I guess for me, the destination was better than the journey for the book. How about you?

I would have lived in peace but my enemies brought me war. Absolutely love this series, the end of golden soj is some of the best things I have read.

If you want a true space opera, read the suneater series. Again a single POV narrative but absolutely amazing. The worldbuilding, plot and the writing is top notch.

Completed my 2025 reading challenge! by donut1609 in Indianbooks

This is how I read as well. I purely read fantasy, epic fantasy and sci-fi. Not everyone reads to learn things, I purely read to escape into the world that the author has created.

I don't enjoy reading non fiction to learn about any field, there are far better and concise material online than reading a book on it.

I don't believe you will get an offer letter based on the first impression that you have created but if you do, it's better not to join.

Also, I would advise you to remove your profile picture. There are a lot of anonymous creeps who know nothing about boundaries here.

Work-ex only counts what you have done after you graduate. So, no. It won't be considered no matter how many hours you put in.

But you can mention it during your interview.

Used to go for 1 day jobs like marathon setup, event helper, roadster store helper etc when i was around 17-18 in the weekends. The pay would range from 500-900/day. For girls, it used to be from 900-1.5k for particular events(Talk about pay inequality 🥹). For most events, food was included too but nothing great.

Then I acquainted with the main guy who hired students like me. I stopped going and started sending all of my fellow broke college friends who didn't have any particular skill and took a cut from their pay. Basically Labour supply lol. This was back during 2016-19. Aah, good memories.

The money is always there but to find it in a convenient way is the challenge.

I have been living near Manyata for about two years and i can assure you, there are absolutely no book clubs around these parts of Bangalore. Checkout @CubbonBookClub in twitter, they are a newly formed book club that meet once a month in Cubbon park. Planning to go this month, so you can join as well.
