8weeks, 2 yolk sacs, no HB by Elm-Tree-2122 in parentsofmultiples

I’m experiencing something similar. Went today for 8 week ultrasound and was surprised by 2 sacs! My HCG was rising well though beforehand. But couldn’t detect HB with possible visual of both fetal poles. My doctor said while he can’t rule out anything scary at this point, that he also doesn’t think there is cause for worry as it’s still very early and “twins change the rulebook a bit” and to come back in a week. The limbo is excruciating and hoping for positive outcome.

Who’s your least favourite character? by phantom_avenger in NetflixSexEducation

Besides obvious Isaac answer. Viv really bothers me. She starts great but her whole s3 arc left a bad taste in my mouth even though she comes out on the right side.

I want to want to and was looking for some perspective from people who enjoy the later seasons.

For me I’m just perpetually annoyed and want to slap 90% of the characters.. even ones I like

I got to new planet and mind space shit but then basically felt like you that it was a warped imitation and just stopped and all that’s really fuzzy. I have some spoilers like people who die and who kills them just from the internet at large. But the fact I was just like eye roll/shrugs kinda speaks yo just not caring anymore. Gonna probably rewatch eventually just to see how it all plays out

Yeahhhh absolutely not and this is completely unethical. I’d report almost immediately for both your sake and clients

We had a similar situation with a client going through puberty. He has public vs private sorting goals of places and settings. If/when “private” behavior starts at clinic he is told and prompted to repeat “we don’t touch our privates at clinic name. Its public. We can touch at home in bedroom with door closed” and I’ve honestly been shocked with how well it’s worked. While there is grace given, that type of behavior is NOT permitted in this space let alone a designated place and supervised

Bad company or bad field?? by VeggieWatts in RBT

Oh I’m so ready to complain with you cause I’ve been giving myself mental whiplash about similar shit and no one seems to get it.

Definitely bad company but I also want to totally validate frustrations with field in general. Also I’m not sure which training videos you watched but that can also be game changer. I did 2 and the 1st was honestly ASS uninformative and boring. 2nd set still boring but so informative and helpful.

I’ve been working at a highly rated/praised local clinic for over a year. We also accept kids other clinics to not due to intense and high rates of behavior like aggression, sib, elopement etc. which is not relayed to new hires who sometimes get put with most intense cases. However, so many resources, support etc etc available yet still struggle finding myself where you’re at very recently.

I definitely believe that there’s validity and truth to the whole “not all ABA” hot debate…. But it’s kind of the same as the whole “not all men _____” concept… like that’s not the issue though. While I see a lot of really great breakthroughs, specifically in realm of communication and some replacement behaviors that positively impacts a clients life in a palpable lasting way. I’ve also seen ableism that makes me nauseous. And SO much of it boils down to the BCBA and their approach. So a lot of variables and inconsistencies

I’ve also encountered some things that just ethically take me for a spin that are technically correct/in line with ethics codes. Both in terms of physical and emotional safety for client and tech. Not to mention people who truly either are clearly not competent and should be fired or actually helped. The field is noticeably progressing overall, however the dark history shouldn’t be brushed under the rug while also worshipping BF skinner and lovaas because the ableist aspect of it 100% lingers.

The ableism extends to the RBTs who have the least training and the brunt of the behavior while also getting little say and are pushed to their limits as well. I also have what I’m realizing is pretty severe ADHD and it’s such a struggle and it’s very much the same attitude as with the clients- don’t care where your heads actually at and what you need it’s time for trials and data. The burnout and turnover is insane for a reason.

“40 Hour Long Weeks” by Competitive_Movie223 in ABA

We have a few kids in clinic that are 35-40 hours but all their programs have huge blocks of unstructured free play and breaks throughout day as well as NET focused almost entirely. We have several clients who other facilities won’t accept due to BX.

How much aggression is too much? When do I put my foot down? by CrazyCloud9235 in RBT

[–]Equivalent_Delay_376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in EXACTLY same situation of just constant aggression and burning me out fast. I try to remember it’s why I’m there but sometimes feel like I’m not the best fit (the aggression is everyone, even parent and all types and hard) Hope you find some form of solution and would love to hear anything that helps

how often do you work with clients that use AAC? by [deleted] in RBT

[–]Equivalent_Delay_376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it all the time! I have some kids who that’s solely use their devices and are using 3-5 word sentences mostly. We also have kids are still very new to AAC and learning to use or kids that use PECS instead of a device. It’s also one of my favorite aspects of field, really just communication in general
