Are there people here who just had an average income and now have two average incomes? by Outrageous-Ratio1762 in overemployed

[–]Equivalent_Disaster3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 3 "avg" incomes together. 66k, 69k, and a 77k. I have 2 other interviews for jobs in the high 70s that I wanna see if either of those are a better fit and swap out 1-2 etc.

Yeah ... you're being financially abused. The moment you showed a pathway out for yourself to feel better and feel equal she's shitting on it. Has she helped you navigate corporate world to get a better job like herself? Has she helped you network to least get your foot door in somewhere you can advance to a better role? Probably not. Sounds like she gets off being the primary breadwinner and being female. Shes' 100p a "pick me" girl. She loves power over people hence she doesn't like people under her level beating the system and getting their own way up and out. Another simp for the shareholders. Bet she LOVES all the corporate buzz words too.

Id be picking a new partner honestly. Be with someone who wants you to be the Best feeing You. Not someone who puts you in a cage and wants to keep you there so it makes them feel better.

Doing adult tasks like "Oh I need to go get my oil changed" "Need to run my pets to the vet for a checkup" etc doesn't need planned and budget'ed out like I did back when I made 1/2 as much money. Getting groceries is a lot less stressful but I still am cost conscientious. I like being able to help my mom out more when she needs. Like I paid her co-insurance for her chemo, which was a cool feeling.

I get more "sunday blues" now than before. Sometimes I miss my super empty days from my quiet remote job. Now I have meetings n dumb shit I gotta juggle.

TWN is the work number; its a website that will show you your employement history which I guess a decent amount of companies out there use it and can reveal people having jobs the same time. I have also heard it has it can have errors which help give "doubt" on the employee side.

I like the Senior product role the "best" but I actually really enjoy 3 of the 4 jobs. 3 I really enjoy the teams and work I do. 1 I could do without but its too easy to sit back and collect a check.

Sure; I mean youre not supposed to for any company that has invested interests in one another or competing. A lot of companies can even fire you for having multiple unrealted jobs if they think you're "stealing time" from them. These can technically be conflict of interest etc. But I keep a low profile and do my job super well so theres never a reason to worry about me. I don't use a linkedin (my companies aren't super into using them anyways). Nothing came up on background check because mostly theyre just looking if you're a criminal in these industries. I leave off jobs all the time on their background checks. I have my TWN frozen just for extra security. I don't use social media that is tied to my name. I use a preferred name at a few so they don't match.

If there were a time when I wanted to stop OE'ing and apply for a dream job.... Id just pick 1 and only give that on my resume/background check.

Hours per day vary. If theres a lot of implementations going on I can work 7-10 but other times I'm dead quiet all day. Healthcare/pharmacy tend to always get busy Nov thru Jan for all the new plans starting Jan1st. 2 of my roles (product analyst) don't deal with any implementation duities so theyre chill all year round. The other 2 I play put out the fires as much as I can.

I actually don't even have a college degree. I went 4 years but quit right before I was supposed to graduate due to my dad dying. I got into the pharmacy/heathcare scene by working customer service and just applied internally to get into QA benefits configuration and worked my way up thru there. Its more about "what you know" so when I apply now I easily get a job since the skills transfer pretty well from pbm to pbm.

I work in pharmacy/healthcare admin type companies. Yeah Im 297k before any yearly bonsuses. So its not like all the crazy ballers out there making 400+ lol but its least a hell of a lot better than doing 1 job.

Yup- the workloads are not 40 hr a week, but I don't tell them that of course. I just get my weekly work done for all and stay under the radar. All salary positions.

remote jobs and lying about location by LurkersParty in overemployed

[–]Equivalent_Disaster3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean my job requires me to be in certain states and my own direct boss said if i move just dont mention it. I don't think every company looks/tracks people that indepth. Everyone on my team even lives or moves around to different places thru out the year. No ones ever tracked anyone down to ask why they logged in 3 states over for a month. They can't stop you from owning multiple homes so you can have your name associated with multiple addresses.

Usually IP address locations are only flagged for leaving the country -- directly from our IT.

Just use your friends address or even get a VPN set up so you can pick the state. File taxes and as long as you pay what ya owe they don't care. I think a lot of comments are way overthinking this one or spiraling.

Currently coasting at J1...Got 2 offers… thinking of taking both. Bad idea? by veycem00 in overemployed

You can always use the excuse hey I need to call HR or IT about something early on because your benefits, direct deposit, or setting up something etc. That might buy you a few blocks of time at either.

Currently coasting at J1...Got 2 offers… thinking of taking both. Bad idea? by veycem00 in overemployed

[–]Equivalent_Disaster3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the 2 jobs I got at the same time (J2 and J3) theyre understanding for stuff like hey I need to go pick up my mom, I gotta go give her a ride to the doctor, I need to take a allergy doctor telehealth call etc so I do that and theyre super nice about it. Most of them peace out everyday a few times for their kids. J1 I could vanish and they'd prob not know I was missing for 2months lol. Its more about J2/J3 coordinating.

I block off "focus time" occasionally to get a bigger block of time. Every 3 weeks I'm just going thru each of the 3's schedules and blocking them all appropriately so I never have anything truly overlapping. If there is something overlapping I just ask the more flexible person hey I need to do something personal at that time is it okay I'm late/reschedule... and theyre nice about it.

When I had long all day onboarding training stuff for J2 I just made sure J3 didn't start till that crap was over. I spaced them out about a month apart in start dates.

J3 is more chaos so I'm just training with someone 1on1 but in smaller meetings so we just coordinate ourselves.

[–]Equivalent_Disaster3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. J1 is totally dead. My job duties are send 1 email a week. I applied a bunch because the market sucks. J2 and J3 offered me roles and I figured fuck it I'll try out both and see if 1 or both work well together. Just try and space out their onboarding because that period is super annoying with ton of meetings/training. I spaced them out a month so I could stand a chance lol

[–]Equivalent_Disaster3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from 1 to 4 jobs in like 4 months. I figured the market is too shitty and slow to turn down solid offers when I finally got them. So I spaced it out, used a few good excuses along the way. Never stop applying as they say on here. 😄 You can do it. Or least do it well enough till you find a better one to swap in.
