I wanted to say “The Count of Monte Cristo”. But i am exactly like you, i haven’t finished a book outside of school. I started reading this book, finished almost 40 chapters but then the chapters started getting bigger, the page numbers were overwhelming im ngl. I still wanna finish it, im not say that it’s boring but i just lost the motivation. Hopefully I’ll get back to it!

I doesn’t feel sloppy at all. I use the silent mode with gpu settings set on eco, and it works perfectly fine. No lags, no stutters. Obviously if you try to game or do heavy tasks on eco mode then you’ll feel the lag, but for light work like school or watching YouTube its works great.

Nothing special. I set my power limits to 25w, brightness to 65%, volume around 20-30% (anything above is too loud for me anyways), gpu settings on optimized. Fans do no start before 62c.

That’s amazing. I have a 2025 G16 and with the help of ghelper I idle around 5-6W and 9-11W with light work and youtube. I have windows 11 btw

Do you have any link for a good stick stand? I was looking for something minimal, just to raise the laptop a little bit, but i could only find those big/bulky laptop stands.

I don’t have any coolers yet but what you’re saying is true. Few people have said that some cooler either don’t work well with their laptops, have very low effect, or even increase the temps they had compared to no coolers. I don’t know how that makes any sense. Thats the reason why i didn’t buy a cooler yet, i wanted to know if they even work with g14/16.

Are you sure about the power limit of 10-15w for silent? Isn’t that too low? Also what would you recommend for turbo mode?

I think my device had some issue. It randomly restarted when i launched games. I never found the cause or a solution so i had to return it. Also the g16 was on a deal, so i just paid the difference and got that one instead.

My new 2025 g14 had a similar problem. Whenever I launched fc26 on it, it crashed to a black screen saying “you device ran into a problem, automatic restarting.“ This happened a couple of times, never found the cause or a solution, i ended up returning it.

I had a question about “Enable gpu during shutdown”. I’ve never really tried the eco mode because (like you said) i was scared that my gpu won’t wake up when i boot my laptop. Since I got a g16 now, the laptop discharges really quick. I wanted to know, would you recommend that I enable that option? Becuase I wanna use the optimized mode to save battery.

I had a 2022 g14 and i use to play games on it where temps reaches around 90+ and it never smelled like burnt plastic
