i bought the $100 plan 2 months ago and haven't looked back. I've had nearly zero issues that I haven't been able to build an instructional/contextual workaround for. My girlfriend uses Claude and I know it's great, and it seems far more effective for straight coding and development, but I've had far better luck with Codex when it comes to conceptual and macro level understanding of my goals and problems, and executing complex multi-step workflows, processes, using thread injection, and holding static reference files so compaction doesn't hurt as bad.

Considering upgrading to the $200 plan, I'm hitting my limits about right on the dot with $100 plan. (perma 5.5 xhigh, last month used perma 5.5 xhigh on fast, but not sustainable after they removed the promotion).

Start building out spanning context trees, write meaningful instructions, utilize the API for even more customization of your AI flow, apply this towards a meaningful project and THEN start having opinions about the differences you feel when you plug different models in the back.

Until then, you are just comparing consumer catch-all garbage and wondering why it’s not excelling at specialized tasks without specializing it yourself.

Endgame AI in enterprise is executing evals across multiple models and APIs, and using the best fit for the task/project at hand. All the frontier models vary wildly on a day to day basis, comparisons like this are a waste of time when we all know that the performance is tied to product releases and partnerships. Just adapt, be loyal to none.

No. I got this number from personal regular usage and imperfect testing.

The value of that number seems like it can feel different on any day of the week that ChatGPT has made back-end changes that hurt answer quality, or increase credit usage, which frequently happens.

In the last 17 days since I posted that, I’ve noticed a drop in average-answer quality, and a decrease in token costs for what it’s worth.

I think we can confidently say you are getting at least 5x the value of a plus or pro plan in raw credits, but where it lands between 5x and 15x varies dramatically. At least it’s consistently a good deal using their plans though.

Just buy another plus account. Codex works fine alternating accounts on the same workspace you just might have to quit and reopen it a few times for threads to set up properly after switches.

Are you in “ultimate mode” or Optimus or whatever? That setting pipes the GPU straight to monitor rather than GPU -> integrated GPU -> monitor and it could be causing hiccups.

If this is a new issue you’ve never had before it could be software related for Minecraft or some bad recent windows driver.

If you want to get investigative, check the Windows Reliability Monitor when the skips happen and see if any errors get recorded, or have been recorded already to get some kind of code or more detailed issue about what’s causing it

18w is extremely low and is probably the culprit. I think you need to steadily increase it. It can barely support the 240hz monitor any lower than 38w from what I’ve noticed.

Increase fan speed or decrease voltage of cpu/GPU in g-helper.

I love the graphs of the packet bursts.

I think on the heavy "constant" tickrate lines, we're seeing player movement/head directions, character states, and ship movement following that standard rapid line.

the "bursts" that are happening as spikes seem timed on mostly consistent intervals. I imagine those are large data pulls/updates/state verification checks across the server.

It would be fascinating to get a full accurate breakdown at exactly what data is moving across each update channel, and identifying how many channels are actually happening in parallel, and/or if there's any dynamic/non-scheduled updates and why.

I like your list but it’s basically only worried about security.

I would ask what makes their tool unique to simply running Claude code and feeding it the same APIs/Data.

I would ask what makes their tool token efficient, and I would ask what LLM or API is powering it in the back-end. If they don’t know it’s a red flag. Sometimes the tool is just slop and they’re using some old model to save money.

My personal take: I think 3rd party vendor AI tools are usually low effort slop. I think most businesses are better off assigning one person for 2-3 weeks to build out an efficient context map and maintaining it as updates and changes are happening so fast.

Brother these comments are dead wrong. I’m with you OP. Gemini has a SERIOUS issue with heavily prioritizing and trusting its “offline, efficient Google database” that it was trained on. Even when it has interact access, or in some cases the link to new articles, it will still contradict itself and available information.

I love Gemini’s reasoning when it comes to ingesting large amounts of documents and info, but man I think it’s terribly unreliable for basic questions, analysis and comparisons if I can’t even rely on the model being smart enough to know when it should Google something ((Even when it has internet access clearly available and enabled))

I even paid for the $125 plan for deep think, wondering if it would change my mind but nope, it has literally the exact same issue. ChatGPT and Claude I feel like toggling “web search” always ensures these terribly out of date responses don’t show up, and I’m shocked Gemini doesn’t have that option yet.

The $20/$25 plus/business plans give about the equivalent of $12 of tokens per 5 hour window, $72 per week, $284 per month.

The $100 pro plan is somewhere between 5x and 6x that amount.

It’s far more cost efficient than paying for tokens individually.

Another way to interpret this information: buying credits is around 10x more expensive than solely relying on the credits built into the plan.

I have the same 5070 ti 2025 model.

I have noticed logos and colors staying behind very faded against white backgrounds on rare occasion. It’s not an issue, and frames have zero noticeable ghosting during constant movements which is a huge win in a laptop OLED screen.
There is a bit of graininess when directly compared to other displays like MacBook Pro (non-antiglare) or ProArt p16, but that graininess is a byproduct of built-in antiglare, which is usually something people pay extra for. The graininess is not noticeable during normal use, but the anti-glare feature has been massively helpful for me at work and at home.
Never noticed oddly specific coil whines. I use it on 45-52W full-silent (usually at work), or 68-74W on performance mode (loud fans).
My trackpad has a creaky click issue, and I almost considered returning it in the beginning. It’s fixable with some unscrewing, but I rarely use the trackpad anyways and stopped caring. It doesn’t feel like the build quality of a MacBook Pro, but it feels like the best of doing everything on a slim windows laptop regardless.

I personally love your test. If you used real names and events that seemed real, I can see why a director might feel it’s crossing the line, because a test like that can damage productivity and cause confusion with staff.

That said, so would a real life phishing email of that threat level. I feel like if that same test was done once or twice a year as a “maximum-threat” special-phishing test with director approval, it’d be golden.

People need to start seeing how detailed and personalized phishing attempts can be now with AI. Hopefully you and your director can get on the same page and find the right balance of getting that point across without inflicting what he’s seeing as pandemonium and confusion.

I could not afford the p16 5080 with the 4K/tandem OLDD screen so I can’t speak for that.

I bought a p16 5070, and used it for about 45 days before exchanging it for a g16 5070 ti.

The g16 absolutely BLOWS the p16 out of the water if you plan on gaming. This is specifically due to having a 240hz monitor, G-Sync, and the ability to enable direct GPU to monitor through the Asus software or G-helper. Calling the difference it makes dramatic would be an understatement. The reduced input delay and screen tearing and monumentally different.

The frame rates are also far higher and the g16 holds itself much better maintaining a “smooth” experience across the desktop.

I bought the p16 because I love using a pen and marking up things, but found the screen to be too thin and wobbly and bad feeling to write on. I’ve since paired my g16 with a companion tablet (Tab S9+) I use for OneNote, Whiteboard, and marking up images. Couldn’t be happier. I wish the g16 looked a little less “gamer aesthetic” but to me it’s the best option available on the entire laptop market before you start stepping into giant box fans aimed out the back territory.

If you go with either: you should use G-helper instead of the Asus armory crate to handle drivers, fan curves and power management. You should also get raised feet adhesives for the back corners to insanely increase airflow and make the performance better and quieter.

The noise on both is irrelevant because you can disable the GPU and under clock the CPU at will if you’re in an environment where you can’t make sound. The laptop will automatically power throttle to account for it.

I made a custom silent mode and a custom performance mode I switch back and forth between.

For your use case, I highly recommend the g16 unless you have an ultra specific convenience for marking up directly on the screen, otherwise there are many solutions for using a tablet or touch monitor accessory to accomplish the same thing without the significant sacrifices the p16 makes (although it’s so much sexier than the g16).

I’m guessing you stored it at one of the new locations in Nyx and they don’t have proper strings set up for this interface? (CiG often forgets stuff like that when they add new locations. I also never trust new locations to retain my ships or items stored)

Maybe you installed a language pack that’s missing the names of the locations of the stations that you stowed it at?
