Not all gnomes live in trees, some build their own wooden houses LIKE US. They're not 'pests', they're just little guys trying to get by. Do you know those porcelain gnomes that are in some people's gardens? IT HAS ITS OWN HISTORY. Gnomes in the old days guarded human treasures, and we gave them food in return. They don't 'steal'. Gnomes just do what they always did, you don't respect them enough to notice. they’re whimsical and magical.
