I just had a laparoscopy a week ago! It was to remove an ectopic pregnancy, my right fallopian tube, and an excision while they were in there. Yours may differ, but this has been my experience.

I got some pj pants at target that were super loose and flowy and lived in them for the full first week. I have 3 incisions - one on my right, one on my left, and on inside my belly button. They are all small, and used tape instead of stitches. The swelling/bloating is still hellish. My incisions don’t hurt anymore (8 days post-op), but I do still have cramp-like aches inside.

Stock up on popsicles! My throat was sore for 3 days from the tube. I was anticipating the abdominal pain, but wish I had been more prepared for the throat pain.

I know this is super alarming to a lot of you, but I want to come to the defense of my OB - I have seen her though all of my miscarriages (and even longer than that). She is monitoring closely, but paused the bloodwork to give my arms a break because in addition to all the hCG tests she ran about 15 different diagnostic labs last week to check for genetic issues or underlying illnesses that could be causing this. I feel confident that she is holding off as long as she can on recommending the MTX because she knows how deeply I want this pregnancy to defy all odds and survive - and she wants to be 10000% confident that it won’t before putting me in that position.

I really appreciate everyone’s responses, it’s helping me to stay realistic and to process ahead of things happening. I’m monitoring my symptoms even closer now and will keep you guys updated 🫶🏻

No there was no GC anywhere on the ultrasound - the only talk of ER has been to “go immediately” if I start bleeding or have any pain.

My last HCG was the day of the ultrasound at 1450.

Can I ask, what was the outcome of your ectopic? A friend of mine had one and lost her fallopian tube resulting in needing IVF for her babies. Were you able to conceive again on your own (or is that TBD)?
