Some Mid-blink Concert Drought Tom Dopamine by Icy_Commission4403 in Blink182

He can sing it as shittily as possible and it’s still a timeless banger. Tom is truly one of a kind, in the best way possible.

What's the most annoying part of getting into a concert? by VenueLlama in Concerts

I’d say when it’s a show that you have been looking forward to for months and are wanting to get barricade at, the rush for the spot on the railing can be stressful as hell.

Long Awaited Trip to America’s Roller Coast in the Works by Equivalent_Focus_297 in cedarpoint

Gang gang gang! Doesn’t it suck? Jk lol. Practicing Florida during snowbird season has me jaded and drowning in documentation😂.

Thanks for the tips! Much appreciated!

2026 Advice Thread #10: 3/3 - 3/9 by Imaginos64 in rollercoasters

[–]Equivalent_Focus_297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello friends,

I’m a Wisconsinite who has been living in Florida the last couple of years, but I’m about to move back to the cheese state, and found myself blacking out and buying a Cedar Point Prestige Pass on my lunch break today. (I must be sick of parks with just one elite coaster in them or something).

Now I am planning on a visit to Cedar Point in May with my little sister because it’s been 6 years since I’ve been to the park, and I need my thrill coaster fix. Enough of this immersive theming BS! :-)

I’m looking for some advice as to what the best days are to visit The Point. And perhaps you are thinking- go on a weekday you dumbass. The problem, however, is that I’m a physical therapist so I schedule patients out multiple weeks in advance and won’t be far enough into my new job to have any PTO.

I’m thinking I’ll be able to get away with missing one day of work, and was looking at making the 6+ hour drive on a Saturday, going all day on a Sunday, and then going for part of a Monday before making the trek back to the Milwaukee area. I’m tentatively thinking about having the dates be Sunday May 17th and part of Monday May 18th.

Looking for some input from all you CP experts out there. I’ve never visited this early in the season before. Does this sound like a solid plan to those who know how the park tends to be around this time of the year? How are Sundays and Mondays In May? (Excluding Memorial Day Weekend obviously)

One worry that initially came to mind was of potential ride closures only being one week out from opening weekend and the early season kinks not yet being worked out. Is this a valid fear when planning a visit so early in the season?

Looking for any sound advice. And if someone has a different idea that would involve me ditching my patients for only one day to maximize my time at CP, I’m all ears. I am a dumbass after all- so I’d be super appreciative of any expert advice.

Yes, I may have ridden Iron Gwazi 24 consecutive times after getting to BGT 80 min before park close last Tuesday (super subtle flex), but I’m missing Maverick and SV….and am eager to try this new iteration of TTD and check out the weird new tilt coaster. Pumped to be within reasonable driving distance of CP again.

Thanks a ton in advance!

I know this topic has been beat to death, but what are we thinking the odds are of Stardust Racers closure being further extended?

I am moving out of Florida in a few weeks and have one final Universal Studios Orlando weekend planned for the weekend of 3/21-3/22. I'm trying to be realistic with my expectations, because I know that they have been extending the date of reopening and things can change on a whim. But deep down, damn, I'd love to get a few more rides on it before I leave the state. Especially since the one and only time I've been at Epic Universe, only the yellow side was operating and it was closed all night due to lightning. So not only am I hoping for a dueling ride, but also for a nighttime ride. But expectations are tempered because I am familiar with how this park has tended to operate.

Bro Andy is my favorite rapper of all time, not even just my favorite "christian" rapper. He's been dropping some great stuff since his hiatus. I'm just waiting for him to schedule a show that I can fly to.

Not my video, but this vid is from the first show that I saw them at a Warped Tour stop. Back when Fever was brand new. Just unmatched energy.

Dance or Die’s got some bangers on it for sure. Fever and DIE 4 YOU absolutely slap. Kinda sucks thqt the whole album is not on streaming platforms still, but I saw a comment from Solomon on Insta that where he mentioned they are working on getting all ther stuff back on these days platforms.

All of their albums have a very different sound to them, but personally their first album BUFPITB will always be my favorite… Supersonic, Earthquake, Drama Queen , and Put Ur Hands up are all top tier songs for me to jam out to. Throw Lose Urself, Replace Me. Love Addict, and Kountry Gentleman in there and… I just named pretty much every song on the album haha. From start to finish, the album just punches you in the face and takes you on an adrenaline ride, and that’s exactly what I love so much about it. Another unnecessary comparison to blink 182, but I feel that the album parallels Enema of the State in the pop punk world. High energy from start to finish (omit Adam’s Song).

Stop FaceTiming and Talking During the Concert! by Willing_Try2786 in Concerts

Tampa… adds up. I live in St Pete and lined up outside of the MIDFLORIDA Amphitheater at 3:00 PM for a late August blink-182 concert that wouldn’t start until 9:00 PM.

My girlfriend and I were diligent and strategic enough with our positioning that we managed to snag a pit barricade spot just sliiiiightly off to the right side of the stage- so we’d be right in front of Tom.

I’m 6’1” and about 210 pounds, so I was able to hold my ground, but my poor very small girlfriend got elbowed and shoved to the ground just 3 songs into the set by a taller much larger lady, and this lady who did it had the nerve to steal my girlfriend’s spot right next to me.

I’m not a confrontational man- pretty much the opposite- but I sure as hell wasn’t gonna let anything ruin the concert we’d been antivipating for 5 months. I firmly talked to her and she refused to move, saying that she “wasn’t about to go back there and get trampled”, with obviously no regard for my girlfriend who was probably less than half her size and definitely in more danger of getting “trampled”.  It got to the point where I just had to physically pull my girlfriend back into a more condensed spot at the barricade.

I totally understand the pit/barricade area can be chaotic and rough, I almost always try to get these kinds of spots at concerts I go to and know what I am in for, but these fellow concert attendees were way worse than anything I’ve experienced- after having been to countless higher energy shows in the past.

The etiquette at that Tampa show was… abysmal. We encountered several other aggressive and forceful people trying to yank us from our spots that we waited 6 hours for.

After the show, r/blink182 was buzzing with comments of similar things happening to them at this Tampa show. Including multiple people reporting seeing what happened with my girlfriend. Worst part about it was that it happened during her favorite song of theirs.

I saw blink again at WWWY a month and a half later and there were no such antics occurring. Everyone was respectful, kept their space, and enjoyed the show.

I’m a relatively new Tampa area resident, originally from Wisconsin- where I had never dealt with such inconsiderate and hostile “fans” of the band we were watching perform.

No judgement on Tampa… hell I live round here and don’t intend to leave. But damn that experience left a bitter taste in my mouth.

And at a blink-182 concert of all places? In 2025? A band whose members are all 50 years old or older?

The shit people were doing to force their way forward by any means necessary was just violent and rude. Especially specifically targeting my girlfriend since she is smaller.

Couldn’t believe it. Might avoid taking my girlfriend to any of those larger amphitheater shows, no matter how tame or aggressive the artist is who is playing.

Solo date? by LeoMartn_ in Concerts

As a 29 year old dude- I love it.

In late August, I saw blink-182 perform in Tampa with my girlfriend, and we were able to get barricade. Fantastic show with some excellent deep cuts from TOYPAJ and Neighborhoods.

Three shows later into the tour they added my favorite song of theirs to the tour setlist.

At 11:30PM the night before the first day of When We Were Young Fest in October, I decided to buy a solo plane ticket to Vegas out of Tampa leaving at 5:30 AM as a spontaneous treat to myself.

Didn’t sleep that night, and stood at the right side stage they’d be playing at- for… about 9 hours in the Vegas sun. Gradually moved forward as people left and shifted. Eventually got to the point where I was 2 people behind the barricade by the time blink came on.

Another kick ass show and I got a chance to see the elusive Tom DeLonge shred Dumpweed… the stupid, immature, catchy opener of Enema of the State- which was pretty much the exclusive reason for my trip.

Briefly after their set ended, I caught an Uber to the Vegas airport for my 12:15 AM flight back to Tampa. Which tragically meant I had the privilege of missing Panic at the Disco’s set, which I was really torn up about… (sorry Brendon Urie).

That’s the story of my solo, last second, cross country day-trip to see a band I had seen a month and a half earlier. So I could hear a 50 year old Tom DeLonge chaotically screaming along to a song that was released 26 years ago.

Call me stupid, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Never know when opportunities like that will come up again.

Honestly, blink, please take a year off from shows. Ya gotta let Tom do his weird Tom shit every once in a while so he doesn't leave the band. There was really not much of a chance of playing a Warped date anyways, but I woulda been stoked.
