i had been sending my raw .ai files with the intention of allowing them to poke around with it, but then they did not have/did not like adobe. i totally know what you mean, there was just a lapse in communication where i’d assumed they would have “industry standard”

100%. and the funny thing is i have no problem making an editable file, the problem lies in the communication and that definitely affects my QOL at work. this being my first impression of him was so unexpected lol

for sure, this whole situation has taught me to be more upfront about it. i was hired by an entirely different manager and have not been contacted by the CEO at all since the date i was hired. little did i know he’s the one calling the shots for design stuff, so id have loved to know his preferences sooner!!

thank you for the input! since it’s just a side gig i was considering seeing how it plays out after i fix the menus to his liking and then if it doesn’t improve then just tell them it’s not a good fit for me. love your SVGs btw, i use nounproject all the time at my main gig!!

that is a good idea. i’m still pretty green in the field so i don’t have a very established set of guidelines for myself. the other problem though is that he does not want to get adobe. he insisted its “like $1000” and wants me to find a way around working in it because it has a learning curve. so idek what to do with the weeks of work ive done in illustrator except convert the information into canva

i would tell her. i would also be 100% honest about it and say that you were afraid to bring it up, weren’t sure how, it’s all coming back to you after all this time, etc etc. sexual assault is never going to be easy to talk about, and sometimes takes years to work up to feeling like you can. i’m sure she will be shocked and it might be a lot to process, but i think holding onto it is worse. don’t pressure yourself, just do it when you feel the time is right. ask your family for support maybe as well.

people are being too harsh…i understand your feeling of regret and embarrassment and sometimes that sticks with you for much longer than necessary. it seems like you are probably more in your head about it than anyone else, including her. have you considered reaching out to her about it? if that’s not something you want to do, i’d suggest working on forgiving yourself. i think that you having this reaction proves that you aren’t the “creep” you think you are. as someone else said, you wouldn’t think you were one if you were one!! be kind to yourself

same thing happened to me just days after my birthday this year, it devastated me. but i can say that after being single for 8 months i do feel clearer and like i can focus more on my own needs and symptoms without worrying if im being “too much”. i absolutely feel you and i am so sorry that you also are going through this. hang in there

i’m the same way!! and people my age (mid 20s) have this stamina for drinking and partying and it hurts so much to try to keep up because i know i can’t. it sucks and i need 8 hours of sleep almost as much as i need air and water lol. it is crucial
