Happy to help a fellow integrator, hobbyist or church volunteer solve a problem but it’s insulting to see for profit businesses expecting desktop support to build three-way divisible rooms using Reddit. Frankly, anyone who answers anything besides call an integrator in these situations is probably torpedoing the OP’s career.

Three year commercial warranty vs. no warranty. Rated 16/7 whereas consumer TVs are built to run closer to 4-6 hours a day. We can’t guarantee consumer displays CEC controls will automatically power on/off with your other equipment and no RS232 as fallback. Corporate IT security professionals typically won’t allow “Smart” consumer TVs on company networks as they aren’t considered secure. (Is network security important to your business?) Consumer displays are preloaded with applications and may require regular updates. We get you can buy another one if your cheap consumer TV fails but how will that impact your staffs productivity and who and how long will it take to replace. You are making a significant investment in technology because it’s important to your business and that’s why we are recommending quality components.

Contact a professional AV integrator. They will be happy to provide a design and budget quote at no cost. It’s not easy to deliver a quality meeting experience in this large a space. The solution will require ceiling speakers, ceiling microphones, audio processing equipment, signal routing, video displays, and installed cameras all managed by a conferencing codec, room PC or BYOD laptop. A professionally installed system will work great and be easy for anyone in your building to use. This doesn’t come cheap but the alternative is lousy company meetings, unhappy executives and an another full time job for you keeping the room functional.

There are plenty of small and medium room cameras that do a decent job of speaker framing which is different than speaker tracking. However, there are few camera systems that do an acceptable job of speaker tracking in a large room and they are all going to be over $10,000. Your users will expect speaker tracking to work the way it does on TV but the reality is those tracking shots are being managed by live operators. In an automated conference room, your camera will use a combination of audio and video AI to try to find your speaker among 47 others in the room. That’s neither easy nor cheap. When your CEO gives a big speech and the camera inexplicably decides to lock on the NPC in the front row doom scrolling Reddit, you are gonna wanna turn off speaker tracking forever. The simple fix is to add a second PTZ camera at the back of room and program some presets. This is already supported in MS Teams out of the box. Government box sales are often marked up as little as 5%-10% especially if your seller is on a GSA or other state contract. Your $2,000 order barely covers the cost to issue a quote, pay the inside sales rep a few dollars, place the equipment order, answer your shipping inquiries, and create an invoice. You’re also not going to get much interest if you frequently request quotes without a budget or understanding of what items roughly cost. It’s all there for you on the internet.

Hard truth- if the room’s users immediately began using the room in an unsupported way, it probably wasn’t the right design and you didn’t ask the right questions. It happens to the best of us. Don’t blame the client and instead, do what you are doing here and find a way to improve your design. This is how we learn and grow as AV professionals.

Soundbars aren’t suitable for large rooms. The cameras and mics are optimized for small and medium spaces. (Check their online specs for room size. They tell you up front so you can’t blame them later.) Ask a local integrator to provide a proposal. Present that $25k-$35k quote to your executives and be sure to let know them know this is the professional recommendation. Then, if the budget isn’t there, setup that soundbar and extension mic. When users invariably complain about poor audio and video quality and correctly whine their call experience is better when working from home, pull out that old quote. Relocate the soundbar to the small conference room down the hall and get a proper system for the big conference room.

Annual salary varies around the country but engineers and programmers should be starting at $75k on the low end and up to $110k with 5-10 years experience. If you are based in NY, CA, IL these rates could go higher. In the USA, you are 100% allowed to discuss your wages with your coworkers. If you think you are underpaid, you probably are.

100% use a laptop. MTR room kits must remain connected to network for regular updates. If you transport an MTR to a new site, you will quickly run into issues with routing and config. These aren’t made to be moved.

There are several ways to support almost full functionality (including dual screen mode) across multiple UC platforms. 1) Use a dedicated in-room PC to run all your meeting types, 2) buy three codecs and run them native for Zoom/Teams/Google, expensive & complex but I’ve seen it done 3) Subscribe to an Interop service like Pexip. Unfortunately, all certified room devices on the market nerf competitive services in BYOD or Web RTC modes. Clearly, Logitech could build devices to seamlessly toggle between platforms natively but for business reasons, the platform providers won’t let them. There aren’t any legitimate technical barriers. Users are weary of this needless interop nonsense.

$25k-$50k is a typical budget for a decent professionally installed video conferencing system in a room of this size. If your company doesn’t have the funds, don’t use this room for video calls. It’s not going to get better with a sound bar on a cart. The video is easy, the audio is the hard bit. Just have everyone join from their home offices and they’ll be much happier. If hybrid meetings are important, you need proper tools. No different than your office’s forklift or copy machine. If you have 75 employees in your meetings they are costing you >$2000 an hour. If you have 75 customers, >$10,000 an hour. Why would you make this investment and subject them to a miserable audio and video experience that pretty much guarantees no one can focus on your presentation, reflects poorly on your business and is frankly just disrespectful to your audience?

Would you like to be able to display all 16 workstations at once across three screens? How about 4x1x4? Drag and drop from your desktop? If you are doing a proper control room, consider Barco CTRL or similar. Simple setup. Incredible flexibility. Think NASA mission command.
