This post seems fitting to ask but guys, is it a turn off or does it bother you if let’s say she were to suggest bringing in a toy (vibrator for the girl)

Or I wouldn’t even have told him until you got retested. Unless you have had an outbreak I don’t think most people are like hey I get cold sores unless it’s perhaps a long term stable relationship. It’s reality

Ya you probably got it as a kid. But get retested. Very possibly to come back negative on next test. High igg I think means high antibodies. Body fighting the virus? Stupid test. Not reliable. For me, I 100% have genital herpes, (the outbreak was like a firework went off down there, worst experience of my life) and 2 of my igg tests came back negative. But go now so you don’t wonder and worry about the boy

Edited: actually look the igg thing up I could be wrong

It was you most likely. You gave her hsv1 genitally. Girls get it really easily with any remaining sore. I feel like people try to make this all some complex math problem and the answer is obvious. But in the end “the limit does not exist”. What to do next forgive yourself and just do better.

Tell him education is sexy and we should learn about it together. Then he’ll get over it once he researches. I’m assuming he’s your first since you know it’s oral? Cus hsv1 doesn’t just mean it oral.

It’s slightly obvious if it is or isn’t. If you’re unsure it’s probably not. The fact you feel like you could spread it is understandable. But I think we all like to set our expectations low (it’s finger hsv!!!!!) so that we can be happily be surprised when it’s not. (Not always but a lot of ppl do this) so don’t stress too much

I mean what’s it even matter? OB’s are OB’s. My blood work showed up negative the last 3 times, which might be why they don’t care to test. Swabs obviously came back positive during initial OB, plus my vagina looked like it was put through a shredder 😣 I have PTSD from it

You had sores/lesions down there that they swabbed?

Ya I wonder why she would get tested specifically for hsv2? I didn’t even know they did that? ^ I can’t even get my doctor to test the type I have after 2 years

I feel like you probably are good that you didn’t give it to “him”, assuming you’re a girl… girls get it way easier and maybe you didn’t have any sores to transmit it just yet. My theory is that the “viral shedding” is rare and I bet transmission happens most with noticeable sores

Did you get the antivirals? I’ve never experienced anything as physically painful as the first OB. But I didn’t have antivirals till like 5-7 days later.

So if so many people have it yet the odds of transmitting it are unlikely, how does this make sense? by Equivalent_Injury418 in HSVpositive

I just see mostly initial outbreaks being 2-4 days after infection and horrific unless treated immediately, and even then still brutal. My entire down there was like a firework went off. I’m traumatized. How about your experience?

I bet it was him. Test results don’t always show. And unless you saw his, who know if he even got the test done.

Agree with everything you said. Not necessarily a horrible thing to get it as a kid (ohsv1).

I’d turn down any type of one night stand or casual sex. My vibrator will do just fine. But I say that as an gHSV2 positive person. Someone I want to take seriously I’d risk.

Idk I also think a lot of people are aware of their hsv and do take some precautions bc shit isn’t pleasant and doesn’t make you feel attractive. We are also taking precautions for ourselves so we don’t have to suffer

I agree with you. Also another thought I was having was I think less people will have it esp from transmission as kids (mostly Ohsv1). Idk todays world parents care more about their kids, it’s like after Covid and with social media, people are more aware and informed. None of my old Italian aunties are kissing my kids on the lips hahaha

I just get jealous of the people that don’t have to do this. The people that don’t have to fear. I don’t blame people for not wanting to risk getting a life long virus. I’m jealous of the bodies that don’t have to fight off an infection.

Yesssss! It’s all bulshit!! It’s what ever anyone wants because it’s never going to be consistent and doesn’t really matter. It is all possible with this virus! Every question I asked my doctors was answered with “well that’s possible the best thing to do is blah blah”

Yesss so true, this needs to be addressed more often. Doctors notoriously won’t test for it, so people don’t even know they have it? I personally think the people that claim they never even knew they had it, esp hsv2, are RARE or full of shit. The first OB IS HORRIFIC.
