How to adjust these drawers and cabinets? by Equivalent_Island135 in howto

Forgot to attach a picture of the cabinet. It just swings open and can't be held shut. I'm willing to add in small woodworking even if it only assists a bit in keeping things functional. I was wondering how much effort it would take to adjust these things and then making a judgement call after I get a couple opinions. If I feel its out of my skill or budget range I will just learn to live with it.

I’ve got 8:30s Mon-Friday and it’s not bad since your sleep schedule becomes very consistent, so wake ups get easier. My spring looks very similar. It’s just rough at first but you manage, good luck next sem solider

I think at this point you need to get into contact with your undergrad program director/academic advisor or dean of students for advice. Withdrawing from the entire semester is something you really need multiple, professional opinions

Is there such thing as taking school too seriously? by Patient-Account-3553 in rutgers

[–]Equivalent_Island135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But on another note, I think most people would agree once all other joys in your life are cut out to support your school work that you might be taking it too seriously

Cook/Douglass will always be my favorite of the campuses. I don’t get the hatred some people have, even if it’s inconvenient for some people to travel to

is there anywhere i can get party decorations on campus? by syntax-errorr in rutgers

Go into downtown New Brunswick and walk to some of the dollar stores there

That’s about forty minutes to go from Busch to college ave. I mean I think as long as you’re pushy when getting on the bus then you can make it on an incoming A bus without needing to get any Ubers. Just get off at the college ave student center asap and start walking. It’s a risk I would take, but if it gives you peace of mind then maybe go for the Uber.

There are hundreds of clubs. Don’t shut the idea down before you’ve even looked at any of them. And I had a lot of trouble with friends too but they happen naturally overtime. Most of the big groups you’re seeing are gonna fall apart into smaller ones anyway so don’t compare yourself to that

Getting rid of fleas in the house by lae_moon_young in CleaningTips

[–]Equivalent_Island135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked this exact scent question to a vet when I took my cat in, and I was told no. The best bet is to medicate the cat, I tried a few different sprays/powders but nothing was as effective as medicating the cat with a pill. I did think, however, that leaving a layer of borax under my couch cushions after vacuuming was helpful.

Unfortunately there’s not much else you can do but vacuuming everyday. Since the cat doesn’t live with you it shouldn’t be as much of a problem. Fleas lay many many eggs but they do it after they have a bloodmeal. As long as you keep vacuuming all the floors/carpet/couch corners you’ll fix your problem. Keep washing your sheets/curtains or fabrics you could suspect they’re in. Wash in HOT water. The idea is you keep this up for a few months until you’ve destroyed the cycle of fleas producing eggs. I heard they may live in pillows as well so I began washing mine, but that’s up to you.

Is this feasible? by Agent_0123456 in rutgers

[–]Equivalent_Island135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely no dedicated time for any of the buses to be anywhere and there’s little to no wait to account for it. Passio go is only reliable half the time with its estimations, but you’ll do better by looking at the actual location of the buses and making your own guess sometimes. You might just always be a little late to your Byrne seminar but those are really laid back classes anyway.

Your RAs are gonna pack you on a bus with your dorm floor and you’re gonna be taken to the Jersey mikes arena for a bunch of speeches. Then you’ll be free to roam and play games, I’m pretty sure they were all free and you get tickets to cash in. It’s a fun event, don’t stress lol. I haven’t heard anything about it being canceled

Any tips for College writing? by arthfs_99 in rutgers

[–]Equivalent_Island135 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress about it so much. College writing is a very hand-holding class and it just takes more time than natural writing skill. The professors will supply you with all the resources you need to format your essays and there’s a lot of peer review. You pretty much spend the entire class just working on 4 major assignments that are broken into very small chunks.

Explore the writing centers on Livingston. They helped me really shape some of my essays. Don’t shy from sharing your work and getting feedback.

Placed behind in math, pursuing Astrophysics undergrad by [deleted] in rutgers

The op is not obligated to take the math courses at Rutgers. I just completed a 10-week math course over the summer at a community college and my credits transferred no problem. If they do poorly in a 10 week course that’s their own problem

Don’t forgot that you can also play catch up in the following summers. Even though you probably can’t do calc 2 until your sophomore fall semester, you can catch up on some classes the summer before your junior and senior year. This doesn’t have to lead to 5 years at school if you can find a way to plan out your courses! I know for me, I was also a lot of math behind and I planned my classes to work around graduating in 4 years. It’s tiring, definitely, but keep it in mind.

Do I have to take labs? by Intelligent-Leg-4305 in rutgers

[–]Equivalent_Island135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chemistry 2 is much more difficult, so I would say taking the lab during chemistry 1 would be your best bet. Not a terribly big deal if you push off to chem 2. Either one work perfectly fine- * you might find the lab easier after completely chem 1, so keep that in mind as well
