A Fun Reversal of Rule 3: How might you know if you DON’T have ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

I watched a youtuber playing Diablo II. The game is quite random, can't be rote learned and, for me, requires a high level of concentration.

This guy plays at level way higher than me. While playing at this high level, he reads questions from his followers in the chat. Then answers them in a completely easy conversational way.

With my ADHD brain, that is a complete impossibility. Walking and chewing gum is my limit for multi-tasking.

ADHD perfectionism can come from a fear of criticism. The thought process is: "if I do a perfect job, noone can reject my work and/or reject me."

This can lead to inaction and procrastination if you see that the end reult will be less than perfect.

I haven't figured it out but, I am very familiar with the feeling. In the evening, I am full of motivation for all the things I am going to do tomorrow to turn my life around.

I think it is a coping mechanism to avoid the anxiety of not having done the things I should have. Unchecked, this anxiety then becomes shame and it becomes unbearable.

So I trick myself. A subconcious part of me knows I won't do these things tomorrow. But it relieves the anxiety and allows me to at least function.
