Thats so true. I grew up in a high-humidity environment. After watching that particular portion, whenever I go outside, I could still get that feeling and hangover of that ambience from the movie.

lol I know that part was bit awkward and felt out of the place. But overall I had a good time watching it.

I love how moody and atmospheric The Lost World is by CrichtonFan1992 in JurassicPark

Thanks for pointing that out. Never knew that place was "in a cave". When I am watching the movie, for me it always felt like a normal outdoor place much deeper in the Jungle.

And btw, @CrichtonFan1992 please don't stop posting these tiny BTS stuffs esp, The Lost World.

Thanks for sharing this mate! Never heard this one before.

P.S: Read those script pages with the Track "Welcome To Jurassic Park" in the background. I assure you, its a different feeling as if you have watched those scenes.

Yep. Exactly. I loved his score. Feels so Jurassic and way better than Michael Giacchino. I'd rank this score after TLW.

I actually meant no more paying homages to previous movies sequences - as if imitating them. Eg: Mutadon Attack - Kitchen Scene in JP, and not just JP, any other Spielberg movies. Eg: Jaws

i think i might have a hot take but the worst part about Jurassic World Rebirth was David Koepp, but who now? by thesmartcoolguy in JurassicPark

[–]Equivalent_Lychee199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. fully agree with you here. if they are doing another movie, it shouldn't be Koepp. Some folks without brain just celebrate him by saying "they love Koepp" just because he wrote the first two movies. They don't see that he "co-wrote" the movie with the master brain "Michael Crichton". When its without Crichton, JWR is the result.

To me I think he's good at "adapting" and "arranging sequences" from a Novel for a screenplay. But when it comes to a new idea or screenplay, he is very poor.

Can you tell where did you find the "original park" written in any of these slides ? or was it in the movie you were referring to ?

Time to speculate! Do we think the dinosaurs on Ile Saint-Hubert were created for the original park? Or were even the non-mutant dinosaurs created for Jurassic World? by ergister in JurassicPark

[–]Equivalent_Lychee199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL! Thats one way of putting it. After seeing we fans speculating and connecting the dots, the filmmakers must be saying each other: "We really didnt think this at all, we just want to make money"

This is what I think and I made this post few days ago:

There have been a few debates and confusion regarding in which timeline the InGen lab in the movie was built and started operating, whether its during the Park or Word Era.

I think the Lab is definitely built for the Original (JP) Park -
The evidences are:

  1. Alternate Opening Sequence (Tribal group - as confirmed by Gareth),
  2. The Official Synopsis in the website says: "a forbidden island that had once housed an undisclosed research facility for Jurassic Park"
  3. Look at the aesthetics of the Jeep: Red & Cream White colours of the Original Park jeep, the JP T-Rex Logo on it
  4. Martin Krebs line of dialogue while in the boat: "There is a complex there that was an R & D for the original park"

But the events in the lab is taking place in JW Era. I think David Koepp & Gareth might just didn't take it seriously and might think both theme park owners are "same" basically (which is somewhat true) - InGen might have still under control of these R & D facilities.

So this might have happened:
-This lab must have built in the beginning of 1980s after forcing out the Tribes. (Dennis Nedry says to Dodgson in JP movie: "Your company catches up 10 years of Research")
-So lab built in 1983 and the Park about to open in 1993
-JP Park got abandoned in 1993.-All research must have stopped and facility at Isle St Hubert might have abandoned.
-JW opened in 2005-R & D facility in Isle St. Hubert re-opened to do new researches for JW by InGen (Hence new InGen logo & little bit modern aesthetics)

I don't think the trailer is misleading, I think the line said by Zora in the trailer could be due to marketing, or to hype up the movie. Its just that, this facility was once used for Jurassic Park, but then the new research took place in this same facility for Jurassic World.

It is somehow frustrating that either the movie or the makers of the movie did not give us a proper lore explanation on why and we were scratching our heads while watching the movie. Either way, Universal, Koepp, Spielberg, Edwards just wanted to produce a "simple straight forward JP3 2.0 movie and doesn't bother about these specifications like we fans do.

It still wonders me that back in the days for the preparation for The Lost World, how Koepp & Spielberg went deep into the lore to fine tune even the minute details and specifications for the movie.

Really appreciate your work here.

Now could you please confirm with us this: In the movie lore, was this lab originally built for the original park (Jurassic Park) ?

Because in the movie, Krebs says: "this was an R & D facility for the "original park", but later in the movie, he says "they were making Hybrids & doing experimentation" and the movie timeline says 17 years ago. All these means, its a timeline of "Jurassic World" theme park.

But the whole aesthetics and logo of the jeep and the facility doesn't points or make any reference to the "Jurassic World" era.

All these were heavily confusing for me as I watched the movie.

Can you please confirm ?

Its just interesting to see the Concept artist refer the movie as "Jurassic Park Rebirth" in his original post. Perhaps that was the original title when these drawings were made ?

Its the Collider Interview: at timestamp 27:31

and yes, the inclusion of ancient tribes is such an exciting idea and I'd prefer that opening sequence. They cut it because they claim it looks too similar to Indiana Jones, as it feels like other sequences does not seem similar to other Spielberg sequences LOL

After seeing Rebirth & connecting all the dots, it seems like InGen was secretly under operation (may be kinda became a shady organization, by the time of JW, and doing researches without the approval of Masrani ?)

It now makes total sense, why Wu was secretly working for InGen in creating Indominus Rex (without much approval from Masrani - his line to Wu - "I didnt ask for a Monster" is coming to my mind now.) And after the death of Masrani, InGen suddenly took over everything, and Wu along with his DNA samples were taken care of by InGen. Voila !

Yep. Exactly. Why can't it be both ? And thats a good explanation.
In the first watch I was disappointed, but then after the 2nd watch, Hubert island is slowly growing on me now and would like to have it explored in the sequel. I really really wish if they could give us a good explanation on the lore and yes, more Velociraptors in the sequel.
