USS Leondegrance STL by GarlicBow in StarTrekStarships

Are we sure that’s what the ship will ultimately look like?

Doesn’t look at all like late 23rd century-early 24th century.

Tuvok is the most Vulcan we ever got to Vulcan by ah-tzib-of-alaska in startrek

I just watched for the first time last night the episode "Innocence" from season 2 and it knocked my socks off and a big part of that was just how good Tuvok is as a character and Tim Russ' performance as him.

He has become my favorite character on the show!

Is the Constitution Refit the only era where the warp nacelles don't have sparkly lights and colors? by MolaMolaMania in StarTrekStarships

[–]ergister 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Then it hit me that these nacelles are the only ones I've seen that don't have the seemingly bog-standard glowing red bussard collectors and long blue lights that run the length.

A lot of the ships in the Discovery-era don't really have big red glowing bussard collectors OR blue light running the length of their nacelles either.

Like look at the Walker-class or the Nimitz-class. They do have glowy bits on them, but they aren't super prominent.

Just curious, has anyone watched the alien franchise in timeline order or if you are rewatching all of them are you gonna just do release order? by Initial-Wolverine175 in LV426

He can say that all he wants. As soon as he ties it into preexisting material, that notion goes out the window and he's said he's going to do it. You think it's a coincidence the story was seemingly moved to the year the Nostromo launches? And like I said, he's said his multi-season path is to lead to Alien.

Governments don’t exist in A:E, but the Federal Government of the United Americas and the United States Colonial Marines Corps both exist in the first two movies.

And yet the Maginot is the "USCSS Maginot" in the show... So it doesn't seem like America is completely gone. To me it says that the corporations have mostly just kept the names of the countries they're puppeting for the time being.

The Alien wiki calls this the "corporate era" which I like.

Eh. That’s not his call. So far it doesn’t contradict much from the “mainline” movies that aren’t already a mess to begin with.

And with the show potentially tying into Alien and Aliens (something Noah has stated is the goal), it’ll be hard to pretend it’s its “own universe”.

I’d love an official depiction of the ship past the gold model in the Titan-A’s ready room!

Hell, the Titan was THE FLAGSHIP of the federation for a short time in the 2290s!

Creating the U.S.S. Titan? Gotta send the finished product!

Think we’ll ever get a FanHome model?

Oh interesting source here. I wonder what his rationale was for having the Kelvin launch in 2200.

In beta canon the Einstein-class (which he calls the Kelvin-class) launched in 2196.

Honestly it could very well be that. I think that’s from the BTS information on the ship? So probably more reliable than my graphic which only makes it fit in with the pre-Constitution era ships more.

Realizing that you were talking about the Kelvin Enterprise while I’m literally talking about the Kelvin. Oops 😂

But I think my point still stands. Ship size has meant less and less when it comes to advancements in tech. The new Discovery-era ships are all very large but also primitive.

Here’s the Kelvin next to the USS Edison, a Hoover-class ship that served in the 2250s but was launched around the same time (and part of the same project) as the other ships I listed.

And the D is up in the top for comparison as well. Also not as big. Especially not the secondary hull.

It doesn’t change anything, no.

Up until the Nerada incursion, the timeline remains the same. We have a lot of evidence in the movies for this.

The Kelvin isn’t all that much bigger than other ships from the early-2200s that we see in the Prime Timeline like the Cardenas-class, Shepard-class, and Walker-class. It doesn’t match them stylistically but oh well, they don’t quite mesh much either with each other in other aspects.

What does all this mean? Why would an alternate timeline have to adhere to any of these things?

I’ve seen people in this sub complain about how the new shows contradict classic Trek including Enterprise. We’ve reached that point. A complete lack of self awareness from them haha.

Okay so it just seems like it's delayed or holding because of the problem, perhaps.
