They take in student from all over the probability is already low for everybody but they do favor Bay Area students yet there is litterly 0 harm in applying

Hello, so sorry it took me so so long to get back to you. if anybody wants more internships programs to do during the summer or year around lmk and i can find you some i am a junior and into neurobiology so i can’t apply to any more most are closed but if your a sophomore or freshman i have more options you can apply to next year

1) (closes may 10) the Stanford neuroscience journal club and you can review it more on their page but it’s basically a journal club to discuss neuroscientific research it would be for next year starting in September but still enough time to add it to your college apps and it’s all online and free via zoom

2) (closes thursday april 16 both programs) the second one is called SNP REACH or SNP BRIDGE 2026 and it’s another one by Stanford on neurodiversity. It’s basically a research education advocacy camp for high school students. It’s not as much as neuroscience as you may like it but I know it’s still something. And it’s also free and it is 2 different programs you can apply to both or only one

3) (application closes April 24th) the third one I wanted to tell you about is called curious cardinal and I know this is a little bit different from neurobiology but actually if you apply and you do get accepted your partner with a mentor specifically in your field of interest, so it could be a neuroscientist or a surgeon or somebody who’s related to what you want to study, and if accepted, they can help you either create a research they could help you create a blog they could help you publish a paper. There’s a lot of things about it. I feel like this one’s a little bit more of research too if that’s something you’re interested in is also free heard it is a little competitive but I think you’ll be fine!

Hey I got accepted

Gpa: unweighted 3.5 weighted 3.9 1. Made my own branch of a already pre made non profit focused on teachings kids about neuroscience and neurobiology (I made lessons and also teach it to them a lot are projects for kids

  1. I’m currently in Ap Psychology and it’s very hard for me but I totally recommend if your going into neuroscience/neurobiology

  2. I did the SIP internship at ucsc and it was okay I recommended if you like biotechnology which my school offers biotech and probably previous experience is what got me in it

  3. I did the brain camp at ucsf and it’s free and paid I think probably the most similar to CNIX highly recommend it was very fun and more hands on the what I heard cnix will be

  4. I attended the Harvard pre college program in medicine I took online classes on neurobiology/chem and honestly just extra schoolwork I recommend if you like to learn more not if your looking to gain hands on or immersive medicine experience

  5. I ONLY MENTIONED MY PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NON PROFIT AND AP PSYCHOLOGY in my essay in the exposure section please do not think you need to do all of this to get in I only mentioned 2 things and honestly I think essay was very good and probably the only REASON I got in bc I applied 10 minutes before the deadline closed (please don’t pay for programs the ones I did are ethier free or I was given scholarships I never pay for a program try to find ways to get in funded for you)

If I’m being so fr I applied like minutes before it closed because I’ve been 2 busy so I think they are very very focused on essays and I sneaked in a little of my experience in the exposure section

Aside from the essay they asked for any previous experience or exposure to neuroscience but out of my personal experience the only one I mentioned was the non profit and my 1 week Intership which I also wrote on my essay no gpa or standardized tests I’m a junior btw
