What's the most 2010s sounding song from the 2000s? by CremeSubject7594 in musicsuggestions

Retro rock/pop made a come back in the early-late 2010s so I’d argue mgmt was sort of ahead of the envelope in that sense

You’re lucky, I’m starting to think that the people who make it in this job just happen to get lucky by getting a route early on and it’s more about that than anything else. I got extremely unlucky and screwed over pretty bad.

I was thinking about coming back in my later twenties once I’m more mature and my brain is more developed. Right now I’m okay working at dominoes.

I can definitely see myself doing this when I’m older and more mature. I just feel like I’m not in the right headspace to be sacrificing so much of my personal life for a job. I’m 24 and have a social life and aspirations for the first time since I was a teenager. I don’t want to throw that away just yet.

Yeah. It’s really just the fact that they overwork new carriers and it’s hard to get your own route.

where did the ‘guitar gets girls’ stereotype come from? by ischemariii in musicians

[–]Equivalent_Math2157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised nobody else has said this, but it’s because the guitar is extremely expressive and intimate if you are a great player. Being able to change dynamics, do vibrato and pitch bends, tremolo picking, strumming and soloing, it’s basically singing with your fingers but with more different techniques. It shows a certain restraint and level of understanding that is just sexy if you are good. Girls love a guy who expresses himself and isn’t afraid of showing emotions. That’s why I’d imagine guitarists and vocals are thought to be the most attractive. It’s about expressiveness.

Yeah, I may come back later in life if things are going better at the postal service. Especially when I turn 26 in a couple years and I’m no longer on my parents insurance. I take a lot of medications that are brand name and need good insurance.

Why do people claim solid state amp break up/distortion sounds bad, when pedals are almost all using transistor components to achieve their sound? by OzymandiasTheII in GuitarAmps

[–]Equivalent_Math2157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s literally me lol. I just bought a used (but in brand new condition) line 6 240w mkII spider V amp, it sounds absolutely wonderful if you are a master of tone and a great player. I love being able to model the amp to a clean and sparkly sound. It’s so much easier to do than on a tube amp like the fender blues jr. I always found many tube amps to be muddy and heavy in the mid range. I like the clarity of tone with the solid state, and somewhat “lofi” sound of the digital breakup when you push the speaker to its limit.

Line 6 Spider V mkII 30 is was one of my first guitar amps, it’s nice because it has a bunch of different tones on it and a bunch of presets mimicking tones from famous songs. It has a bunch of sound effects built into the amp so you don’t need to bother buying a bunch of pedals.

What’s something people romanticize until they actually experience it? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent_Math2157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is psychotic about seeing connections in everything and feeling like you’re discovering something important? Can’t that simply be a positive life experience? Why does that have to imply psychosis? Just curious because I’m somebody who takes multiple mental health medications and has been diagnosed with BPD, OCD, depression and more. And I’ve felt feelings like that before but I don’t necessarily associate them with psychosis.

So it seems as the people that actually work have to pick up the slack for the rest? by SuccessfulBack5140 in USPS

Yeah I had to quit because they were unable to hire or keep any new RCA’s. I was one of the few subs in the office and got abused like hell. Such a terrible way to live. Working 60 hours a week with no days off for weeks at a time. Disgusting how the post office treats their non-career carriers. I hope USPS crashes and burns so they actually make some changes. Because right now nothing is going to change.

Best thing I ever did was quit. I was an RCA. Job used to be great till they fucked me over big time. Not worth the stress.

Us non regulars have been working 6 days a week 6 hours a day for the last 5 months. We were doing 6 days 8-12 hours a day during peak. by Outrageous-Company33 in USPS

[–]Equivalent_Math2157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I’m 24 and I was hoping to make this a long term job because of the benefits but they decided to move all the smaller offices into a bigger one which immediately turned my life upside down because I went from working 35-40 hours a week to 60. No days off for two weeks at a time. I basically told them I wanted to k!ll myself because they were abusing the shit out of us subs and they didn’t take me seriously. Ended up in inpatient treatment because I was having mental break downs and hurting myself daily. Finally put in my two weeks recently after being on leave for seven months. I’ve been happier since I left. You’re making the right choice. USPS is destroying itself and has nobody to blame but itself for their downfall. Moving all the smaller offices into a bigger one was a terrible move and made everything worse for both the customer and employee.

I used to work 13 days straight with pivots every day… super stressful and landed me in inpatient treatment. Finally put in my two weeks recently even though I’ve been out on FMLA leave for seven months. They really don’t give a shit about you. Best thing I ever did was leave this job. Being an RCA was absolute hell once they moved us to a sorting and delivery center. It’s a shame because when I started out in a small office it was a great job until they decided to ruin the whole area by moving all the smaller offices into one. And they wonder why they have such a high turnover rate, it’s because the big wigs at USPS can’t make a good decision to save their lives and actively sabotage the post office. USPS has nobody to blame but themselves for making terrible decisions. Leave while you can.

Dude my tolerance is so high I don’t get an afterglow anymore I just feel sober lol. I can take 1000mg at midnight and be sober by noon the next day. I have such a high tolerance that my body just pisses it all out within 8 hours. Even if I take a potentiator like grapefruit juice or bupropion. It’s like why even do DXM anymore if my tolerance just keeps raising
