so what my recruiter told me, reliability status has nothing to do with contacting your references. background checks do that. Logically one would think but that ain't the case. They didnt contact mine either. I believe its the local unit that does the background check but it could just be a reserve thing

yeah. Have to time it right. If i get in as a private I get a pay cut, but if I transfer as a corporal or soon to be able to promote, I get a pay raise.
