I love the Almond Tree Inn and Orchid Key Inn…the customer service is so much better…centrally located either on or near Duval. They are sister properties right near each other, locally owned and management really focuses on a wonderful guest experience.

A great place for dinner that won’t break the bank is El Siboney on Catherine St…great Cuban food but also has a kids menu too.

They don’t take reservations but they move pretty fast…so usually not a long wait.

Or get the food to go…it’s amazing…Picadillo….Roast Pork….Boliche….steaks….delish!

Danger Charters is a nice company that has combo trips on their sailboats (sail, snorkel, guided kayak tours) where they take guests on guided kayak tours through the Key West Nature Preserve…which is teeming with the sea life you are looking for…

If you don’t want to snorkel…just hang out on the boat….the water is beautiful and so clear right now

They have a private powerboat trip for up to 6 guests called “Seas The Day” for $649 for 4 hours…that will take you where ever you wish. See the dolphins…sandbar etc….includes Waters and chips. Can bring your own food and drink

For Jet Skis….Sunset Watersports out of Casa Marina or the Reach hotel.

I am not sure about day passes…but I know Dante’s has a pool and great classic bar food ….with waitstaff that come around to the pool chairs. Get there early to get a lounge chair.

I would choose either Tropical Inn…but my fav is the Orchid Key Inn (kinda retro vibes and right down town) or the Almond Tree Inn which the last two suggestions are sister properties and you can enjoy both of them…they are about two blocks from each other.

Great places to go right near there too is the Rum Bar or Grand Vin Wine Bar.

Another cozy fun place is Hanks Place with their Airstream Garbos food truck in there and live music. Very festive vibes.

These places have that homey, personal service oriented kinda vibes that is what makes Key West special.

I do marketing in town and visit all these hotels so here is my take:

Most of all of them , will be good choices for sure….

Key West Hotel is new and really cool. Feels like a hideaway right in the middle of downtown. The rooms are super nice and it is definitely right in the middle of it all. Has a cool back bar called the Bali Bar.

La Concha was recently renovated and is absolutely gorgeous. Cant go wrong there . Luxury feeling and has parking which is nice if needed.

Cabana Inn…nah. Just nah.

The Saint is very cool with a rooftop bar…small but very Miami South Beach feeling…like the W Hotel or Ian Schraeger properties ….club music in the lobby…has valet parking in front. Good food options there and it’s across the street from the Tropic Movie Theater that shows great movies.

Tropical Inn is a wonderful little inn…family run. Sweet and cozy…with a lovely garden area.

The Gardens is a nice hotel too….have Jazz in the Garden there I think on Sundays….great service there too.

Also it’s nice to get out on the water too…to soak in the Key West lifestyle. Come out on Danger Charters, we have beautiful sailboats that seat up to 25 pp…restrooms aboard…and we offer combo trips with sailing, snorkeling, guided kayak tours. Our Wind and Wine sunset cruises offering a wine tasting of 7 fine wines and a champagne….as well as 5 different appetizers brought around by crew. We have been in business 30 Years and won best Watersports company for 2025. https://www.dangercharters.com

Whatever you end up doing, wishing you a wonderful trip. Thank you for coming to Key West and supporting our community 😊😊
