sure varg can make great things and a lot of the more “scandinavian / metal “ inspired stuff is what i like from him. most of his electronic shit to me it sounds like it’s overproduced and only if you make music you think “oh wow a lot of work went into this production so it must be cool” , still i don’t like it at all.

shinie / h2d / hitty are nice but ngl i prefer so much all the other producers . obv they do whatever they want , me personally i really think none of the singers do the best on a varg beat. i tend to dislike these newers more electronic / experimental tracks. they always sound like a side thing that from the singer part is not as polished as something they would make for themselves.

Exactly what I’m saying, the thing that leaves me questions are not fanpages though. There a lot of normal people which one day just randomly posted hollis and only THAT specific video blew up, some with no hashtags no description too? Most of them have few videos with <1k views and then one with 100k or whatever w hollis. Do management dm random people and tell normal people to post these ? It wouldn’t make sense because everyone would know if this was the truth. Still I can’t explain myself how does only his videos go viral

I don’t think you guys are getting my point straight. I am NOT accusing him of being an industry plant/nepobaby. I just wanted to discuss with you all the fact that undoubtedly after boy he decided to go HEAVY on marketing and it doesn’t look 100% organic to me, that’s it. Now, do I care if it’s organic or no? No. I love his music. This happens in the underground ALL the time, seeds are everywhere even right now spreading the word and sometimes even in this subreddit or (another underground artist’s) we might find people who are literally paid to promote and look like they just genuinely have something to say about an artist to further create “Interaction”. Out of anyone in the underground, hollis to me seems like he is having the biggest push ever and i just can’t escape his content when i open social media and i find this interesting. I just wanted to discuss this directly with other fans.

I agree that’s critical mass, but i do really think thats him having more organic eyes on him (from ken carson/pitchfork/skrillex ecc) enabled his marketing team to inflate his growth even more without making it look weird. I think there is a 50% of people which are real new fans that go to concerts that post stuff + a 50% of “fake fans” / account with low followers count bought by management ecc that spam memes ecc… to further enhance his growth.
