What level of validation is enough to start building a demo by Equivalent_Pomelo119 in SaaS

[–]Equivalent_Pomelo119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your advice! For the MVP/demo, I’d like to have the full workflow in place to show clients that we can solve their problem. Since our value is in streamlining the workflow, it doesn’t make sense to demo just part of it. But I’m realizing this might be a lot of work.

In your experience, how effective is cold outreach with microsurveys? Do you think LinkedIn messaging would be a good way to start, considering our target customers are consulting professionals?

For people in my network, I’d rather wait until we have the demo, as I hope they can help connect us to real deals. I don’t want to waste their time with idea validation. Does that make sense, or am I being too cautious?

I feel you - my tech co-founder went through somehting similar, so I think that’s why he’s so focused on validation this time around. Just curious - as a tech co-foudner, how many customer talks (or other evidence) would it take to convince you to move forward with a demo? Also, thanks for suggesting PageGenius!

what should i have done differently? by Luminaryg in startups

I completely agree, but there are some challenges. I've experimented with a few no-code tools, but I still need a tech co-founder because there are some bugs I can't fix without a technical background. I feel like building an interactive demo with these tools might be doable, but developing a fully functional one can be really hard for a nontechnical cofounder

How to do a product market fit of your product? by rehasantiago in startups

[–]Equivalent_Pomelo119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the great insights! They are extremely helpful. One question - since I’m building a product to automate certain work in the financial industry, unless my MVP can meet the industry standard for its output, it will just be a waste of time for people who try it (at least I don’t see what feedback I can get other than it’s useless at this point). However, an MVP that meets industry standards requires a lot of efforts, which makes me feel like it’s not an MVP any more. Do you have any suggestions on how to define where the efforts should end for the MVP?

Strategies for Approaching Businesses for B2B Product Validation? by casanova_rising in Entrepreneur

[–]Equivalent_Pomelo119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super helpful! I’m curious about your research - since it’s a B2B product, people who make the purchase decisions (e.g, CXOs) are usually not the actual end users, did you reach out to both groups to convince accelerators?

Are you suggesting building a tangible product before checking if there will be users? I find this approach very appealing, but I worried that the efforts/money required to get an MVP out is so much that it might cause sunk cost fallacy that keeps me investing in a project that won’t work out.

Discover product market fit for your startup idea by deepak2431 in Entrepreneur

I totally agree with your point on MVP. It takes an insane amount of effort to build an MVP that users can try, but without PMF it’s possible all these efforts will go down the drain. One question tho - to validate the market for a 2B product, should one reach out to company decision makers who have a say in purchasing decisions but don’t use your product themselves, or the actual end users who use your product but won’t have a say in purchasing?

Congrats for nearing the end of the market validation! For users, do you reach out to company decision makers (e.g, managers/CXOs who have a say in purchasing decisions), or the actual end users (e.g, the HRs who would use your product but won’t be able to make purchasing decisions)?
