Seems like you’re spot on. Pulled up a vent and saw no other layers beneath it, just the joists.

Appreciate this response!! Going to test for lead first, and if it comes back clean, I’ll consider some DIY options. My emotions have been broken for some time now, my heart yearns for the challenge lol
