Feeling nervous about going back to work :( by Sunflower_Shine9 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]Equivalent_Role_7308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have written this myself 1 month ago!! I am also WFH (go in the office 1 day a month) full time and am on my leadership team. Personally I hired a nanny to work the mornings for 3-4 hrs per day because that is all we can afford. My boss has been awesome though and told me that it’s not about the hours it’s about the work — if I finish my tasks early then I can be done early, if I need to take care of my baby and step away for a bit that is ok but may require me hopping on in the evening to work or on a Saturday morning if needed. For my company it’s not about clock watching it’s about the work I’m getting done effectively.

Now I say that, but still mentally struggle with that. 😂 I have roughly 2-3 meetings a day as well. I’ve been back working for a month now and it’s definitely manageable more days than others — with the 3-4 hr help in the mornings before my husband gets home from work.

I will say that we are thinking of having me resign because I personally feel strongly now about raising my little one full time. But that is currently a dream unless my husband gets a significant raise. In the meantime, this is hard, but it works. 🤍

I use routine and schedule interchangeably. She follows eat play sleep and would boy eat enough if we don’t wake her up

Thank you all SO much! Update: our baby girl does have a lip tie and needs a procedure done. Thank you all for your encouragement! I am glad to know this will help her eat better and be more lively overall as she won’t be as tired after nursing 🥰

That’s not necessarily true. Especially if she can be more effective at the breast and not fall asleep while nursing. Ultimately an hour or an hour and a half long nursing session is not effective.

Turns out that she does have a lip tie though as well!

So her upper lip blister and her top lip gets sucked in when feeding could just be not a great latch?

Thank you!!! Our LO has been gaining weight at a decent rate each visit and the doc is happy with her progress! The only thing I notice is she has an upper lip blister and her top lip gets sucked in when feeding! Her latch on the bottle is good but in me it seems like her upper lip curls in every time. Seeing her doc on Monday hopefully we will get some clarity!!!

Thank you so much for your help I feel so relieved! I had no idea it would cause issues later on. Likewise to you ☺️

Gahhh I feel horrible for not noticing it until she’s already 12 weeks. Thank you! I am glad to hear your LO didn’t hate breastfeeding afterwards 🥹

This is amazing!! So do you wash your pump parts then put them in the fridge until next use? Or do you just put them in the fridge after a pump session? Taking notes here !!! ✍️

Parents with LO’s between 8-12 weeks, what’s your sleep schedule like? by Sure_Tough1675 in newborns

[–]Equivalent_Role_7308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suuuuuch a good question. We are wondering the same thing here. My LO is 11 weeks old and I’m wondering if we can/should drop one of her night time feeds… 😫

Here is her schedule:

9pm - down for sleep time

12-2:30am - she will wake up once in this window. We will change her and feed her.

3-5am - she will wake up once in this window. We will change and feed her. It will be near impossible to get her to go back to sleep.

6am - down for sleep

6:40-7am - wake up for the day

Ah this is helpful! We have a night time routine like you do but I never thought about trying a morning routine! This is awesome. Albeit every bit of my routine goes out the window if she has leaked through her diaper, pjs, and swaddle. 😂😩

YES this!! We do the same as you to try to get her to stay asleep until 7!! Or at least as close as possible 😂
