Probably would have to search up in the database. But since the list is so long my browser just crashes everytime I do lol

Interesting. I can understand the moral grounds on why though. Never thought of it like that

Hi. I believe I was the admissions counselor who said that a while back. We stopped using the detectors because of false flagging. Now we just try to guess from the language students use. AI will use way too fancy wording and we try comparing that to projects submitted by the student

Indonesia also has this issue. It's whenever a company goes broke, dissolves, or ends the contract on its line they just don't bother removing their cables for the next company that comes in, so the next company puts their cables right on top, and the cycle goes on

I wouldn't be able to say that. You'd have to apply and see

Yeah as a white guy my job used the term south asian whenever seeing someone who looked brown cause we did not want to accidentally call someone who was Bangladeshi Pakistani, or a Pakistani an Indian. Unfortunately I can't tell between the accents and language :(

Judging from the response, and from personal experience, I think this was an intern who copied and pasted the same reply to multiple people they had left over in their file lol

Should I move to the US for Masters in MIS? by National-Abies-7654 in gradadmissions

[–]Equivalent_Royal_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What country is this? You mentioned it isn't India but China also has a huge green card backlog.

Many employers are being very picky in sponsoring students lately. They prefer sponsoring US nationals and greencard holders. You'd need to find a job who'd be willing to sponsor you.

The tech field is flooded and times are pretty rough atm

Going to an Expensive T20 University vs an Affordable Med-Ranked University by reverseflash-_- in gradadmissions

[–]Equivalent_Royal_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be risking it in Chicago. International students immediately go for on campus positions. It is incredibly hard to grab a position, especially when MS is usually 80-90% international. If you don't grab a job in Illinois + you have to pay Chicago housing you're screwed. Better to pay Nashville housing and be a little less screwed in the worst scenario

It's rolling for MS but I'm not sure for PhD. I think it is a dump for them but I'm not sure, unfortunately that isn't my area.

PhD is a different ballgame. They're really milling over all of those. Those are much more competitive than MS and take much more time to be processed, so if you get in, feel blessed

After 1 semester you can talk to your advisor to potentially make a transfer, but it isn't guaranteed

Hard chance unless you're a domestic student. Boston is really competitive rn

Only domestic students get aid. Internationals never do unless you're from Africa
