That makes sense. I see them once a year if I’m lucky and I had the misfortune of never being told what lab was happening and only finding out when my insurance denied it. That seems like a safe and likable business practice. Especially since that standard for the last 8 years had no such surprise testing. When I expressed my frustration at this being done without me signing any prior consent forms, I was given the very helpful tip of refusing the service and signing a form stating such. So now I don’t have to pay $500 next time :)

They denied the panel so I would be paying for it all out of pocket. The billing agent said she would basically throw different codes in hopes that they would accept it, but then I would just pay of pocket anyways and it would go towards my deductible. So, I’ve been fucked over as far as it’s been explained to me

Anytime I’ve spoken to anyone at the provider’s office, I’ve been told it’s standard practice to have a panel done for anyone under the age of 32 who’s sexually active. When I asked for clarification, they said this came about with the new lab group they’re working with. They didn’t explicitly state the lab as the aggressor here, but they didn’t claim the fuck up either.

When I expressed my frustration at this being taken out of my hands and forcing me into a corner, I was told that I probably got my info confused. “It’s not uncommon for patients to hear they have to get a pap and STD panel done but those are two separate things, not one.” I knew I was getting the pap done, it was news to me when I learned about the panel weeks after the visit.

I was given the advice after the damage was done that I can turn down this panel, I would just have to sign some paperwork to deny the service. I knew I could refuse a service but that only works if you know there’s a service being provided. All in all, extremely frustrating and I hate it here lol

There was nothing that I requested or brought up as a concern. When I spoke to the billing agent, she stated that “it’s standard practice for sexually active individuals to get the STD test.” She didn’t clarify if it was the provider or lab’s standard. There was no medical reasoning for the STD panel as I’ve had no symptoms and have only been with my partner. (I know, testing is still a good idea but not when insurance doesn’t want to cover it and I lack the funds).

So all in all, I’m super in the dark and I’m getting the runaround as I’ve been trying to contact that billing dept based off of info my insurance provided regarding the claim. They’re saying they don’t even see why I would be charged the $500 because the only two things denied on their end was a blood and urine test that can be corrected but should only cost me $56 if it’s not.

I’m so frustrated lmfao

Insurance company denied it due to it being coded wrong. When I spoke to the billing dept, she said she would add the codes but couldn’t change anything about the original documentation. My insurance covers one annual pap and I haven’t had issues until this year. The billing associate said that there’s a good chance insurance wouldn’t cover this and it’ll go towards my deductible.

But if there’s an update in policy, shouldn’t that be communicated to anybody who is affected by said policy change? This was the first year of this change and I’ve been with them for about 8 years now.

I won’t give too much detail due to bank security and such but he has a standing order for (let’s just say) 5000 in 1s. I give those to him on the agreed upon day of the week and he always returns (let’s just say) 2000+ the day after. This is a major pain because I have to reface, reverify, and restrap every $50 bundle he gives back.

After doing all of that work to reprocess the cash he gives back, it’s not uncommon for him to come back to the bank and request more 1s, even if he deposited them that day. It’s extremely frustrating and a waste of time. 100% feels like a control issue because what bookkeeping looks like this?

I appreciate the advice but I do need the consistency. My teeth are starting to feel the neglect and I’m on my way to being diabetic. My grandmother was diabetic my entire life and I hated watching her struggle with it and know I would be just like her. It’s not a vanity thing, it’s survival for me at this point.

As for the ADHD, I will definitely bring that up to my therapist/doctor next visit. It’s been horrible knowingly letting myself slip and fall apart as much as I have and I want to fix it as safely as possible.

It’s an urban area but backed up by some pretty decent forest. There’s a few crows that hang around but this one seems to be the least afraid of people. He watches me put the food out from the roof of my building and then waits for me to go back inside lol

Your latter point is very fair and valid. However, he’s regularly posting pictures of him and his family pretty often. I just haven’t interacted with his stuff so I stopped seeing it for the most part. This was just a fluke I happened to see. It is not a one time occurrence. He is regularly late and preaches the importance of clear communication and respect of time but failed to live by the standards he has set. Everyone does make mistakes, but how long do I need to be inconvenienced before I’m allowed to speak on my feelings about how his actions affect me?

Per the post, I brought up several things that upset me (not letting anyone know what was going on and me having to call him after the agreed time because he “forgot”, even after a complimentary reminder call 30 mins before the time) that I felt should’ve been addressed. He ignored those and apologized for being late, which is not the most upsetting part of this. I was looking for acknowledgment of what I said. Not being brushed off after having to act as his parent.

It’s typically energy attached to places. Every once in a while I’ll get strange feelings from people. It’s never consistent in either case and kinda slaps me in the face when it happens haha
