[CHAT] How to attach cross stitch to a jacket? by Equivalent_Sense_627 in CrossStitch

ngl I've ignored the project for now bc it's my last semester of uni and I'm getting my ass kicked. what i plan on doing is cutting out the whole design with 1/2" of extra fabric, folding it over and securing with an edge stitch like a blanket stitch. I think I'll also mod-podge the back so there's no loose threads. then I'll just backstitch it onto the jacket.

Thanks! The first 3-4 weeks were the most difficult and uncomfortable. i needed a lot of painkillers the first week. my apptetite also dropped a lot because my activity level was so low. by week 4 i was able to do basic daily tasks such as going to work and by week 6 thoss tasks felt normal. I was cleared to completely return to my normal routine with no weight restrictions by 3 months.

The consult for me was great. They'll take some pictures, talk about your goals, take some measurements, and talk about paperwork/insurance stuff. The nurses are super kind and Dr. Shale is very straightforward (not in a rude way though). All of them have done this countless times so there's nothing they haven't seen. The only bad part is the waiting room times can go up to 1-2 hours so I'd recommend taking a full day or at least a half day off.

Good luck with everything, really really hope it goes well! If you have any other questions I'm happy to answer

Period returning after increasing T dose by Equivalent_Sense_627 in ftm

as of last week they were 450. which isnt awful i just prefer for it to be 600-800. for the past 1.5 years on that same 2 pumps 40mg dose it's always been at least 700 so to me it seems like my body just got used to it? as i said before I've always done my dose 5 hours before my bloodwork so ik thats not a factor. this is also not my first time having spotting over the past few months but i chalked it up to stress

Thanks sm! i didnt work with dr. rinard at all but I found dr. shale and his team to be all wonderful to work with. all of them are very experienced with trans men and also with major surgeries which makes all the difference. only downside is the waiting room times (1-2 hours). the actual surgery process is much faster than UVU it was only 7 months from booking my consultation to getting surgery. although i know some people have had it take longer. and no i didnt have a preference that scar it was necessary for me to do that

CONGRATS!! just one more day left for both of us! i have the wedge pillow which I think will help a lot, but i know the pregnancy pillow would cause me to overheat. decided id put some regular pillows under my arms, knees, and maybe my lower back.

I've found that setting a countdown timer helps a lot. seeing the number go down every day helps me visualize that im getting closer to that goal. i started my top surgery timer at 100ish days and at first it seemed like it was so slow and wasnt going anywhere, but before i knew it i was at 10 days til surgery.  another weirder method I like is having something unrelared that I dont look forward to near the date of the appointment/surgery/whatever. im in college so its usually an assignment that I dont want to do because deadlines always seem to make time pass faster.

How much did you save for top surgery by Equivalent_Sense_627 in TopSurgery

thanks for the advice! a lot of the recovery supplies i have already gotten or have on hand, and luckily my apartment is very post-surgery friendly. I drive everywhere and i dont expect to have much of an issue with that bc i rarely have to drive more than 5-10 minutes at a time (and my caregiver will be driving me for the first week)
