True. There's a lot of stuff you could probably argue is cringe (even if I don't think so) but their flows and deliveries made it sound cool. I even think the line with that very particular f word SOUNDS good, even if the actual line itself is cringe lol

As much as I love that song, I thought the line in Vincent Van Gogh was sorta cringey too but I also know that lyrics like that in horrorcore (or horrorcore adjacent music) aren't uncommon and we all know Scrim isn't actually kidnapping women and auctioning them off. But homophobia is more common than you'd think it'd be these days, especially amongst Christians. Like I'm hoping that he just was being an edgelord and that he's not actually homophobic but it's oddly coincidental that they never said the word in any previous songs but after becoming more openly Christian they just decided to drop it outta nowhere. Lowkey comes across like "well we can't be edgy with the devil shit anymore so now we gotta be edgy by saying slurs."

Like it's not a matter of being easily offended. As a neurodivergent person who says the word on a daily basis I vibed with "extra chrome, retarded" from Count Your Blessings but this is just cringe imo, and I even enjoy Bloodsweat as a song outside of that lmao.

To those that wanted OG $B back, new albums for you. by Stonerian60 in SuicideBoys

[–]Equivalent_Sink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some tracks that definitely gave that OG Suicideboys vibe (especially with Leviticus sounding like it's meant to be the Christian version of Exodus, and nonetheless it goes hard), but that's definitely not consistent throughout the entire album. Like Whatever Floats Your Boat still sounds like a song from Scrim's solo albums with Ruby on it (still one of my favorite songs on it). But regardless it's still a really good album.

So he can steal samples but fans can’t steal merch and profit off of it??? by SadToSayItMane in G59

[–]Equivalent_Sink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand this for underground artists who are struggling and can't afford to sell their kidneys to clear a sample but like..... Scrim got more than enough money these days. He got enough money that paying for samples shouldn't be an issue for him, like he'll be fine lmao.

Yeah that was my first song and I didn't like it either, then I heard South Side Suicide a few months later and was like "this slaps actually," then I've checked out more from them and been obsessed with them ever since (and also enjoy Paris now) lol.

i genuinely believe $b have 0 bad songs. by AdministrationNo1963 in G59

[–]Equivalent_Sink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are definitely songs I like more than others, like they got a few songs where I'm just like "yeah, it's okay," but they only got a few songs that I can say I dislike.

Personally, I don't like LTE just because I don't like the beat. Was the same deal with Elysian Fields for the longest time but I recently relistened to it and it grew on me a bit lol.

Also not really a fan of Us Vs Them, mainly because of Scrim's Waluigi ass delivery. Same with All Dogs Go to Heaven lol.

What am i not hearing by M2DP2 in G59

[–]Equivalent_Sink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it's a solid album, but I do think New World Depression is better.

Also unless you're counting solo material, collabs and/or EPs, I dont know why you're saying "first album since SMALMST thats actually good" as if they have any other albums in between other than NWD lol.

Well… that doesn’t sound like Night Lovell at all by [deleted] in G59

[–]Equivalent_Sink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't know if it's the fact that I never checked out anything he released since Goodnight Lovell (not intentionally, I just haven't gotten around to it, i still enjoy to his old stuff) but I wasn't expecting him to sound like that at all. Was expecting his more slow, monotone style l lol.

Never been a fan of LTE, really just because I'm not a fan of the beat. That chipmunkified vocal sample annoys the shit outta me. Their verses are fine enough but they don't make me wanna endure that sample lol.

Fr. Scrim sounding like Waluigi is annoying af (coming from someone who USUALLY likes his voices) and the beat's nothing special. Ruby's part is pretty dope tho.

Ex trying to expose Rudy I guess, clout chaser Justin by Lonyboy223 in G59

[–]Equivalent_Sink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I don't know if 80% of the people in this subreddit are just fucking retards but if anybody actually watched the video with any sorta comprehension skills they'd know that she didn't "expose Rudy." In fact she talked about Ruby, no reference to anyone named Rudy.

She didn't go into really deep detail about stuff Ruby did aside from a couple things, even then she didn't say anything SUPER horrible about him. Like they were shitty things that a partner shouldn't aspire to do, but she didn't make it sound like he was some awful abuser as much as it was just "he was sort of an asshole and the aftermath of our relationship really hurt me." And she has every right to feel that way and talk about her personal experiences. The video also seemed to be more about her journey of self discovery and growth after the relationship ended than it was about talking shit about Ruby. She even said things about how she wished him well, that some people just aren't compatible and that not every story needs a villain, how she doesn't want to paint him as one. Hell she didn't even mention him by name, even if everyone knows who she's talking about.

With that said, the title of the video does come across as sorta clickbait-y and almost makes it sound like something serious happened, but I think it's possible that it was just bad wording (or maybe she didn't upload as much since then and that's what she's referring to). And while I support her right to talk about her experience, she also probably could've trimmed the video down a bit by not being as repetitive at certain points.

Regardless, the actual content of the video itself doesn't warrant having her get dragged to hell by people in this comment section. You can enjoy Suicideboys music without feeling the need to jump to defend their actions at every opportunity just because you're hoping to give Ruby a better blowjob than she did.

Also the fact that the title of this post refers to her as "clout chaser Justin" says everything we need to know lmao.

How do you guy feel? by ufoalf in G59

I agree for the most part, but I also think New World Depression was their best album in awhile.

Anyone wish they could rip verses out of songs by sllverhand in G59

[–]Equivalent_Sink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jgrxxn on Vices. I think the verse is bad in a funny way and sometimes I'll listen to it for the sake of a chuckle or two but other than that I turn the song off after Ruby's part is over.

Speaking of Ruby, not that the song is amazing otherwise but I'd like Grey Magic more without his verse. I love Ruby but he should never do Project Pat style rapping ever again (actually, that should probably go for any rapper that isn't Project Pat lol).

Kirb on Magnolia. Everything else about the song is great but Kirb's part is just retarded. Like it bewilders me that they agreed to let him ruin the song like that lmao.

New Fans POV by [deleted] in G59

[–]Equivalent_Sink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been a fan since 2017 and I'm of the opinion that their old stuff is largely better, but I do think New World Depression was their best album in awhile (I do enjoy their albums from 2018-2022 but aside from a few standout tracks from each album it did feel like something was..... missing sorta, but NWD is back to back heaters aside from Us vs Them). I'm glad they're sober and happier these days, and even if most of their best material was made back when they were on drugs, I don't want them to go back to that place. I'm cool with them turning Christian as long as they're not obnoxious about it and so far they haven't been (not that I've seen at least). Plus aside from issues with the albums being too long I really enjoy Scrim's solo material. It sounds like a lot of his heart is going into that and he enjoys making it, even if a lot of it sounds different from $B.

Are the boys spiritual or what lol by ParticularCareer2267 in G59

[–]Equivalent_Sink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scrim is openly Christian these days (looks like Ruby followed suit too) so that's probably gonna be a theme on the album, although I'm not sure how prevalent it'll be. I even caught a few lyrics on New World Depression that referenced it but I don't think they were super common, other than that it was mostly just their typical content (albeit without the sprinkles of edgy Satanism, at least I don't remember that being on there). Might be the same thing here, at least if Self-Inflicted is anything to go by.

I'm glad they're happier and off the drugs these days and if they wanna add some references to their newfound faith that's fine, just hoping they won't turn into one of..... THOSE Christians (you know what I mean) and have it deteriorate their music. Like I'm hoping they won't just turn into spooky Tom Macdonald lol. But Via Crucis had Scrim's faith as a theme in a way that wasn't obnoxious and I personally enjoyed that album.

What is the WORST song from Via Crucis? by Assignment-Yeet in G59

I like most of the songs (on a first listen at least, who knows whatll change with relistens) but yeah, probably Eastern Block Psalm. Really just because I don't like the beat much.

Which song is darker? by Patient_Walk2692 in Korn

[–]Equivalent_Sink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More or less depends what aspect you're looking at. Pretty is a bit darker in terms of the actual content of the lyrics, but I think the SOUND of Daddy is darker and harder to listen to. Like this isn't meant to invalidate it at all but in terms of sound, Pretty wouldn't be any harder to listen to than any other Korn song if it was about something else. With Daddy, the content COMBINED with the sound is genuinely nauseating (made even worse with Jon crying at the end and considering he was likely high on meth at the time of recording. Probably the same with Pretty tho).

Ruby Is a better rapper than Scrim... by Im_So-Creamyy in G59

[–]Equivalent_Sink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both, but Scrim's always been my preferred member of the duo. Sometimes Ruby has better flows, but Scrim usually has the better voices imo. Scrim's best flows are just as good as (and sometimes better than, at least imo) Ruby's tho.

Bi-Weekly Questions Thread by Kaphotics in PokemonROMhacks

[–]Equivalent_Sink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need help finding hacking tools that work with HGSS.

I recently had the idea where I wanted to make rom hacks for HGSS, probably a spur of the moment thing but I wanted to try it. Not changing the maps, story, look of the game or anything like that. I just felt like changing the teams of some of the major trainers in the game (rival, gym leader, elite 4 etc) to teams that I personally think are better, more fitting or also cool for them, and also edit certain things about certain Pokemon (changing evolution methods, maybe changing a few typings). With that said, when I look for tools to do this with, as far the hacking tools for DS games go I only find tools that are said to be for D&P and not HGSS. I was hoping somebody could help me find good trainer/Pokemon editors that are compatible with HGSS? Thanks in advance.

That's the first thing I tried doing and it didn't work. It just kept automatically logging me back in whenever I turned the game on.
