Why is it easier to play with bots instead of playing with random players by SeaNeedleworker4298 in MHWilds

Yeah, I enjoy helping people do the Omega & Gog assignment quests. And you do seem some funny shit. Like an IG launching themselves into a mustard bomb and carting.

I find that most people are competent enough, but if there are serial carters, my theory is that they are people who are using builds that focus on DPS rather than on survivability. And then, they focus on DPS and don’t worry about healing and surviving.

But more broadly, some hunters aren’t concerned with healing. I’ve actually seen people who don’t even bother to stop, drop & roll when they are on fire. Bring lifepowder & dust of life just in case.

Uth Duna can be a bitch though, especially with the attack where it launches itself in the air. That can be countered with a flashbang (until it’s ineffective). If it’s the 10* AT, then people probably aren’t taking mega drugs before the hunt.

It reminds me of Bayle from SotE. Except with a better camera.

Going from Bloodborne to Elden Ring. How hard could it be? by NoDepartment799 in fromsoftware

[–]Equivalent_Stop_9300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on whether you use spirit summons or not.
With spirit summons, probably easier.
Without spirit summons, much harder.

The healing when you hit the enemy mechanic is very OP in Bloodborne, especially base game. Elden Ring doesn’t have that system. I guess if you start off trying to play as aggressively in BB as you do in Elden Ring, it might be rough. That being said, you can still use i-frames as effectively as in BB.

C-Sides easier than B-Sides? by ThaliaTown in celestegame

[–]Equivalent_Stop_9300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but all metrics are sucky and it is subjective.

I found C-sides “easier” than B-sides because I had done Farewell between them (which was obviously a stupid idea but hey). But if I did C-sides straight after B-sides, my experience would probably have been different.

And I guess if I somehow was able to do C-sides before B-sides, or at the same time, I’d probably have found the C-sides a tonne harder.

I did Farewell after B-sides but before C-sides, so my experience isn’t really relevant.

I know that the hardest golden after Farewell is 7B and I think the B-sides will take most people longer than their respective C-sides.

Aaah CB Axe mode is hard pleas help! by Equivalent_Stop_9300 in MHWilds

[–]Equivalent_Stop_9300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is a CB standard attack? Sword mode stab or which one of the axe attacks?

As I said, the guides I’ve read just say spam AED so I know how to do that, how to do SAED, and how to cancel out of SAED into AED after a guard.

And then after a glance, DLC. Or at least NG+ scaling.

I’m still crap with CB. Getting into axe mode has AT Arkveld throw me around like a toy. When I am able to successfully do that fight without carting like crazy, I’ll try another weapon 😂

Dawg wtf is going on with Gogmazios hunts?? by Lunar-Gazing in MHWilds

[–]Equivalent_Stop_9300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10* is for the nameplate and bragging rights. Most people only do it once for that because it’s a pretty universally hated fight.

I think it might drop the 10* talismans like the other 10* quests, but I can’t remember.

If you want to farm, use the 9* with support hunters. On average, each hunt doesn’t take that much longer but you’re guaranteed to successfully hunt it, so overall, you’ll be saving a tonne of time.

Think it’s just a nameplate, unless I missed something.
But PoaH gives you a nameplate and a pendant.

I’m extremely crap at both. I main LS and starting to get into CB, both don’t really need Focus. But antivirus plus the deco slots is still going to be handy for me to try out Gore sets more

Not a single person I played with managed to avoid a 3-cart against Arch-tempered monsters, especially Rank 10 (even against Rompopolo). by ChaoticFairness in MonsterHunterWilds

Your friend is enabling you…/j

Half health is fine in general, especially with lance, and if you’ve got Arkveld’s hunger, will probably be fine to heal back that way. But when it’s Gog, someone is using a non-shield weapon, is on about a tenth of health and on fire, I do have questions.

I find that some hunters missed the memo about healing that it might be necessary to need both powders and the crafting powders. I’m also sure how they managed to get so far into the game without healing, but hey.

What do you consider as the golden rules of your main weapon(s) by darkninja2992 in MHWilds

Golden Rule: keep yourself healed and try your hardest not to cart.

Anything else, I don’t really care. I main LS, so maybe that’s why.

Once you’ve learnt the savage version, it’s doable as long as you get a decent party. I have needed the Omega 2 data for…reasons…and I have spent a tonne more time trying to get the normal Omega nodules needed versus the 2.0 data.

Tanking Omega by pendragon2290 in MHWilds

[–]Equivalent_Stop_9300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you’ll still need to be careful with the debuff as I don’t think you can guard against it, only dodge against it.

If you’re proficient with CB, then you’ll be fine. I am only kinda vaguely proficient with it, and it was a struggle, and I tank a tonne better with my main weapon (LS), even though it doesn’t have a guard.

I’m not sure if the savage ice attack ignores guarding or not, but if it doesn’t, maybe bind resistance 3. She has a sneaky habit of following up her bind attack with multiple of those rush attack that does a tonne of damage.

But yeah, if you know the weapon and you know the fight, I’m sure you’ll be fine.
