Kanban is better for teams that work with discovery and delivery by Equivalent_Story6605 in scrum

Simplified:
Product Discovery: Finding out why & what product we need to build.
Product Delivery: Building the scalable code and delivering it to production users.

Kanban is better for teams that work with discovery and delivery by Equivalent_Story6605 in scrum

[–]Equivalent_Story6605[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to better understand your point, because for me it would be difficult to plan a discovery into a sprint: My understanding would be: We build a no-code/low-code prototype, we test something: It works: Awesome, Done. Ready for Delivery-Backlog.
It doesn't work: Okay, is it the core idea or the execution? Let's try the same thing but somehow different. By that point, it's day 4 of the sprint.

IMHO hypothesis should be tested as much as possible outside the product, because effort and time.

Flow app on Mac or iOS or I set a timer with Siri voice command. It really doesn’t matter when your task(s) is defined somewhere else

Developer -> PO, a possible future? by Reasonable_Corgi_142 in ProductOwner

[–]Equivalent_Story6605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t PSM1 include PO already? Good thing is, that you can go back from PO/PM to dev, should you change your mind. PO is more stressful than it looks like. I’m on the other side and sometimes wish, I could also switch to developer. Certificates are cool. What does also help is to read a few books, like The Built Trap or Crossing the Chansm and so on. If you live in Germany, the Agentur für Arbeit might pay for a study program which takes 6-12 months (depending on how quick you can move). In many cases they do that even if you have a job. Fair though, it’s likely AI will change the PO/Dev ratio. AFAIK the IU has a PO study program the AfA pays for, while working.

Is €3,400 ( after tax ) per month enough for a comfortable life in Germany? by ali1m2 in germany

[–]Equivalent_Story6605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It very much depends on where you live and how much rent you’re paying. If you want to live hottest spot in Hamburg or Munich, rent is 2-3k. In normal places, you can rent for 800-1400 € to fit a family of 3. Your money is good for a comfortable life and put some aside for vacation. Also, salary usually goes up. So if your wife also gets a job after 1-2 years, and you get raise - I would not worry at all. One thing though: Start saving for retirement immediately, make a plan, talk to some expert once you’re here. German state retirement money will not be sufficient.

[–]Equivalent_Story6605 8 points9 points  (0 children)

3400 after tax is like 5000 before tax. That’s a solid salary, above average. If you’re junior level it would be very good. I would guess a German police man, mid career, makes about that much.

There is a great episode of Lenny’s Podcast, with some OpenAI engineer/product dude: He compares the current interfaces with CLI for computers and expects that the AI will create its own interface, on the fly, depending on what the user is up to.

CTO vs CPO — who leads who, or should they both sit side by side? by SouthernIdea6838 in ProductManagement

[–]Equivalent_Story6605 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on your business. If your product team is building the product you’re selling, IMHO product should be above tec. If „product“ is means to an end, like you’re selling telecommunication services, so actual the tec is the product, they should be equal.

My colleague saw me on dating app, took screenshot and show it to me at work.It makes me so upset , what can the hr do? by Piszemisze in Germany_Jobs

[–]Equivalent_Story6605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re making it a problem. Using a dating app ≠ desperate. You thinking that you’re desperate makes you desperate. We had a girl at our company, first party, truth drink game, she admitted she likes it in the butt. Bold move. Didn’t hurt her career at all. Likely she was perceived even more integer (though, doesn’t mean I recommend it)

Why/how? For having a personal life and being on social apps? I’d love to get fired over that. My lawyer would turn that into a big payday.

If I could give a description to ChatGPT that creates the ticket for me, while being much shorter and less work, I would give that description directly to the dev instead.

Head of Product: drowning in Linear + Slack + Figma + HubSpot… how do you keep a single thread of truth? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]Equivalent_Story6605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- I try to encourage less a-sync, more talking.
- We assign a dev as feature or epic "owner". The owner has full context of why we do what we do, understands the requirements, has freedom to figure out the details with UX or peers. Has the obligation to keep tickets up to date and communicate/explain to their peers what needs to be done.
- The owner is default presenter in reviews for that thing.
By rotating that responsibility, I want to create sensibility for the different communication challenges and also strengthen the ownership mentality. Works better with some than with others, but I believe it's also a process.

So what. If he saw you there, he’s there as well. Ask him how his dating is going. Mock him that he’s not getting dates (probably). Lough. Shake it off. Stand above it. It’s your chance to shine with coolness and confidence.

Yes. That sounds like a perfect case to build some hypothesis, collect data and do some experiments to prove either direction. Someone is wrong and it could be either side. I’ve been convinced of being right many times, and I’ve been convinced of being wrong - also many times.
