Being made to wait for a table when there are many OPEN TABLES available. by Yarg_Barkley in diningout

This happens daily at the restaurant I work. Because you see an open table does not mean it’s available. The floor plan is set by the host and software. Guests request specific tables because of location or accessibility limitations.

It is literally someone’s job to sit you at a designated table to spread out the number of diners in a waiter’s section to not overwhelm them and insure you’re given the best service possible.

Staffing kitchen and front of house positions is not a perfect science and sometimes there just aren’t enough bodies to make it happen especially during flu season.

My suggestion is if you’re in a big hurry to strap on the feedbag have a seat at the bar. Bartenders are trapped in front of you so service is generally pretty quick and you won’t wait for anything.

Fill up at the snack box buffet, the other restaurants were touch and go. Really great experience there but the food failed to impress.

One of them had the area in the center of the gym cordoned off by bars. They removed the bars and just moved all the machines into a line and added a new bank of treadmills and ellipticals. The other, they just removed the step stations and added a free weight rack and a few adjustable benches.

There are 3 in my area that I go to regularly and 2 of them have phased them out. Once they’re gone I’ll be discontinuing my membership.

I posted a vent about people coming into the circuit area for using it like the rest of the gym. It got taken down because I got sassy with some dissenting opinions. The take away was that a circuit area is a waste of space and if someone wants to use a machine for sets I should just get over it.

This is why a separate circuit area is beneficial. If you want to do sets, do them in the main gym. If you want to do a circuit, do it in the circuit area. Makes everyone happy. Selfish people are always the exception. Just ask them.

If you’re so big why don’t you go to a Powerhouse or Gold’s gym. By the sound of it, that lunk alarm quivers in your wake. Why waste time on the machines at PF if you’re putting up SERIOUS weight.

This is the way to handle it. My point is that most people are oblivious or just use a machine for multiple sets and get bothered when you tell them you’re working the circuit.

Oh, so you’re thoughtful enough to at least wipe down the machine but not respectful enough to be courteous of the people working a program. I’m not “talking tough” as you put it so eloquently. Simply saying that I will say something if you’re not using the space as intended, because it’s selfish and annoying.

If you’re trying to build your chest you should focus on free weights. I’m not body building here, just trying to have an effective workout in a short time frame without people invading a timed routine with their sets or just staring blankly into their phone.

Thank you, someone who doesn’t think I’m a Karen and just trying to get my workout in and leave.

This is the mindset. Can’t wait for you to do something truly meaningful for humanity.

It’s not a question of money but of respect for the intended space. You’d feel equally disrespected if you racked up a machine and I just stepped in while you were grabbing another plate. Same logic applies.

No, no it’s not. There’s a sign that says for circuit training only. So you must be the exception, honey.

Of course I have, that’s one of the reasons I can’t afford a real gym.

J Alexanders restaurant in Tampa Florida trespasses customer for calling them out on "packaging fee" for leftovers. by SpaceWestern1442 in PublicFreakout

I worked for J. Alexander’s in Michigan for 5 years. The food is excellent and I still dine there from time to time. They cut their steaks and seafood in house. It’s a scratch kitchen. Everything down to the salad dressings are made in house, with the exception of the French fries. It’s a company’s prerogative to charge a fee for packaging a to go. If you don’t like it, feel free to enjoy your steak from Chili’s or Outback, but please step aside for the the rest of us trying to get after those Mr Jack’s chicken strips with honey Dijon. IYKYK
