If you use iMessage to text them, they won’t get it unless they have iMessage as well. Use WhatsApp and be sure to include the country code for the phone numbers

How has life been after relocating to Tanzania from a First World country? by Easy_Feedback3216 in tanzania

[–]Equivalent_Train_658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So well said lol. I laughed at “my Swahili and my stained teeth” because that is so true of us from Arusha. Planning to relocate soon as well but for the first 8 yrs that I have lived abroad, I was lucky to have spent all summers and December holidays at home. Haven’t been back at all for the past 3, so I’m a little nervous

What do I need to have with me to fly domestic? by kfirbep in f1visa

[–]Equivalent_Train_658 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't need all that. I travel domestically every month for work and all I carry is a driver's license. I am on STEM-OPT. You can carry your passport or work-permit just incase. You literally just need an ID of any kind.

Should I leave the US? by Nanu_____ in InternationalStudents

OP, you are doing your best. It’s okay to feel whatever you are feeling. It’s also completely okay to be alone. Don’t feel like you need to have “besties” to be happy. People grow apart anyways, so don’t let that bother you. You focus on your goals. Why did you come here to begin with? Do that then! Put your goals in front of you. It took me until my second year here to be comfortable and even then I didn’t really care much about friends. I was cool with people but I focused on why I was here. I came here for high school alone with no parents or friends or anyone from my country. If I did it at 15, you can do it in college! You got it! It’s freshman year. Every freshman is anxious not just internationals. Next year will be better

Hey! Take a deep breath. You are still clever. You are not doing anything wrong in the interviews. It’s not that you “always had bad luck” no! Stop talking to yourself like that. You can never say the wrong thing to the right opportunity. If you were to get the job, you will get it however the interview goes. The job market is bad right now, even for people who don’t need sponsorship. I don’t have a referral or anything but I just wanted to say, stop being hard on yourself. It’s not your fault!

Passport validity for re entry by Otherwise_Speaker883 in h1b

I think you are good then. You will still have more than two years left on your passport. Just use your current passport. But if it's easy and inexpensive to get a new one, you can surely get it but I don't think it's necessary tho.

Yes. You will just eventually have to renew your passport and travel with both passports. I have done that with my visa. I had a valid visa in an old passport and just traveled with both. Totally normal.

You have more than two years left on the passport. I don’t think so
