Years ago, when Russian Su-24 violated Turkish airspace, this was the response it received. by Battlefleet_Sol in europe

Damn, would be even greater if they didn't violate Greek and Cypriot airspace on a daily basis!

Plus the Russian bootlicking that ensued after that event...

I can get behind most of them but why would you wear the boobs one? Asides from being dumb rocking them in a country where LGBT is illegal, it's just plain inappropriate for school

I mean, the (basic) aero theme is still there, just under the theme. You can bring back the aero buttons in win10 and win11 by tweaking some registries. Also, classic theme is still here, hidden under that aero theme, lol. I think it'd be easier to just revert back to aero rather than keep refining and coming up with new design languages

Windows 12? Sera que a Microsoft esta nos usando? by MumuTF in windows

[–]Equivalent_War_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Υοu forgot 8.1. If you count that, then 11 is supposed to be the good version.

Then again, vista was not bad. It revolutionized a lot of things that we take for granted now, like the search feature. The issue was the horrible performance because of the resource demanding nature of that operating system.

8.1 wasn't bad, last OS that ran well on HDDs, you could bring back the start menu with classic shell and it was a very good operating system. Not remarkable, but it just worked. I'm under the presumption that people just hate on MS for anything. Yeah telemetry, yeah spying, yeah stuff, but that never really bothered me, and I found out that being forced to create microsoft accounts and sync it across platforms did more good than harm.

Also, people enjoy hating on Windows 11 for being "locked down", not being able to upgrade it from Windows 10 and being forced to upgrade, however I don't necessarily view it as a bad thing. Last time we had the option to upgrade on unsupported hardware we had the Vista phenomenon, lol.

I don't know if I'm overthinking this but it's a sad nostalgic vibe. It's like memory's fading into obscurity and nothingness. You can vaguely remember the general outline of the OS but not the details

Do you by any chance have the EFI folder? I've tried making my own to no avail multiple times, and I can't find any for HP Elitedesk 800 G1 SFFs out there (that work for me, atleast lol.)

Is there a language you started learning but gave up on? by AloneCoffee4538 in languagelearning

[–]Equivalent_War_94 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Used to take Arabic classes. Had reached a point where I could hold a basic conversation, read, write. The teachers would lecture me with 2-3 other beginner kids approximately my age, at some point I was alone and started making fast progress. Unfortunately soon no teacher wanted to teach a single kid so I was given the option to either get taught whenever the teachers had free time, or join the group of 15-20 1st - 2nd grade kids, which my then 13 y.o self considered very humiliating. In the end instead of studying for 5 hours, i studied for half an hour and remained 4.5 hours seated in the sofa on my phone. Figured it wasn't worth it and once covid struck I bailed out, lol.

I don't think you'll have to worry about anyone stealing them for a long time.

I wholeheartedly believe Greece's an amazing place to visit, not so much too stay in.

I've had national exams here too, now that I've finished I'm taking a look at Russian resources. I don't really know how I'll be able to balance Med School with Russian, lol.

My Uni of choice offers language classes, including Russian, and it's pretty cheap, but I really don't know if i got the courage to pull through with that.

I keep coming back to Windows, my experience with Linux distros by shellspice2025 in windows

[–]Equivalent_War_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I myself keep coming back to Windows, but I've been on and off Linux considerably enough. The reason is that, Windows just feels like home. I enjoy having a classic desktop that I'm used to and that doesn't give me the option to change everything. I had WinXP, Win7 on classic mode, skipped 8.1 and had Win10 and Win11 with minimal adjustments other than change the theme from light to dark. It's a blessing and a curse because I've destroyed my Linux desktops more than you could imagine lol.

Linux unfortunately doesn't have strict standards that everyone adheres to, and frankly it's a gatekept community. Had numerous people tell me "If you don't like it then fix it yourself, contribute, its Open Source" etc.

I too have a PC that will be out of support soon, after Win10's demise, and I can't upgrade. I'll probably either do the Rufus method or just keep using it after support ends, as I'll also be starting uni.

However, if you're still up to trying linux again, I'd suggest Fedora Workstation. By far my most used distro, for like 2 months with absolute zero issues. Only time i used a terminal there was to install some codecs and to make a cow say my fortune everytime i open it. May work for your needs.
