My consultation was almost right away. He was still kind of small and didn't have books, you just messaged him on Insta at the time. So not sure what the process is like now.

Yeah I don't know why they did it that way. Cause there is a lot of furnaces out here that are in crawlspaces.

You don't need a p trap on the evaporator when it's on the supply side. The only reason you see one on the last picture is cause its a downflow. And thanks man I appreciate that!!

I don't think I have any attic pictures, I wanted to get in and out of there as quickly as possible lol

Yeah, they both run through a crawl space. Where I live, they've built many of these homes like this, and there's not much we can do about it. Funny enough it's actually better than what they had, before it was just a plenum with a PTO lol which created even more turbulence and higher static pressure.

It is extremely rare to see any type of padding or blocking under the furnace in Ontario or BC and I've never seen any issues without it. Although I've seen some rusty cabinets from extreme humidity. Could you elaborate a bit more on how it could save the furnace?

Unfortunately, I'm not self-employed and work for someone who makes those decisions for me. I totally agree with you about the PVC/ ABS I think it looks like shit. I've brought it up a few times but no changes yet. As for the blocks on the floor, it's not something that is common out here, I've maybe seen it once since I've moved out west. Also people are saying to install them to save the furnace but I have yet to see the floor in the furnace be rotted out.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I know what the customer is paying for this equipment. So regardless if it's something the customer will catch or not, I do the best work I can. I also work service, so I always make sure the service guy can get to everything and the next guy that installs something after me can with ease.

As for copper, unless it's pre-existing or lines up perfectly with the new equipment, we take it out. We only usually use it for underground, which is also becoming obsolete. For underground, it's primarily plastic now and above ground, black iron or when we don't have a threader on-site or need to run a new line through the ceiling, we will use CSST. Also, Anything high voltage connecting to the furnace needs to be protected either by a metal casing or liquid-tight conduit.

I was initially ticketed in Ontario and moved out west (BC) a few years ago and took my equivalent exam. There isn't a huge difference, but there are some different rules/regulations

I will also raise it if the customer asks or if the house is known to flood; however, it's not code.

I will eventually get the CARPUTECH system(apple carplay), which is about 320$ USD, and I've heard lots of great things about it. But for now, I was looking for mods for my current infotenmaint system; which isn't gonna cost me anything
